Help. I recently got 2 male Maine Coon Kittens. They are currently 4.5 months old. They play together and snuggle. One is very outgoing, one is a little more skittish and shy. The outgoing one (Smokey) loves the litter box. No issues. When they were about 3-3.5 months old, I was keeping them in a large kitty proofed bathroom with toys and a litter box and beds when I wasnt home to keep an eye on them. The skittish kitten (Orange) started peeing on the floor in the bathroom (last month). So I initially decided to move them to a larger room with more litter boxes and during the processes I brought him back to the bathroom by himself to get a urine sample to have tested and he immediately peed on the floor in that bathroom. Urine sample was negative for any issues. They've been in the larger room about a month now and there were instantly no litterbox issues once moving them - they have one litter box with pine litter and one litter box with clumping clay litter. If I'm home, they could roam wherever they please. Then suddenly last week, he started peeing on the floor again - sometimes when they're locked in the larger room and other times one the floor in the middle of the kitchen (both rooms have the same flooring - if that matters). I took him to the vet, sample showed some crystals in his urine so they started him on an antibiotic. He continued peeing on the floor for a few days (some large piles, some smaller piles while also using the litter box to urinate) so I added a third littler box to the room with kitten attract litter. He seemed to actually stop peeing on the floor for about 2 days after this and now he's back to peeing on the floor next to his boxes in addition to peeing in his boxes sometimes. So what gives? I also added a feliaway plugin in the room but hasnt seemed to make a difference. I'm scheduling to get him neutured next week. Should I lock him in a tiny bathroom by himself with just a litter box, water and food for a couple days? Is this a training issue, a behavior issue, a health issue, or a needs to be neutered issue? I cant figure him out.
