    Itchy Ears

Hmm... that does make sense.... maybe ... but would they also be scratching? I will investigate just in case.

    Itchy Ears

Hi, Both my cats have itchy ears. I've been to the vet - they both got Revolution treatment for mites and fleas but this didn't work. The vet took a swab and can't find anything. The ears are clear and they are both very healthy and active, other than shaking their heads and scratching at their...

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

Not this time. She took her temperature, felt her abdomen, asked all the questions. If she'd had any concerns she would have taken a sample, she is very thorough. We are leaving it for now, with a check back after the weekend to see if the new litter works. In fact my kitty used the clay litter...

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

Okay... the vet examined her and says it's a behaviour issue. We had a long talk about what we can do about it, so I will follow recommendations and it seems I am on the right track. My kitty did finally use the clay litter and we are keeping the door to the bedroom closed when we aren't...

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

She didn't really use it, she just pretended! She squatted but didn't pee. Okay I will call the vet. My other cat likes the clay better too.... so much for World's Best Cat Litter.... another failure to add to the heap. God, cats are a lot of work and worry. Good thing they're adorable.

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

ahhh.... just put the clay litter in and she used it right away. Fingers crossed this was a litter issue... will keep an eye on this though and will take her to a vet if it persists.

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

I'm not trying to make excuses.... but if she had uti, wouldn't she be peeing everywhere? Also, at the vet, how do they test for it?

Also, could she be coming into heat?

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

Hi, thanks for responding! I just bought some enzyme cleaner too. Dealing with that today! I would take her to the vet for uti but there are no other symptoms... she isn't urinating frequently, she's super active and playing, no sign of blood in the urine, everything else is normal. Could a...

New behaviour... peeing on bed, eek!

I have two young female cats - one is 8 months, the other one 5 months. I introduced them over two months ago and now they get along fine after a rough early start. Our new problem.... the 5 month old now thinks she can pee on our bed. This started about 4 days ago. She never had problems using...

How Much to Feed 4 Month Old Kitten (not sure if he is hungry all the time or just wanting food all

HI, My four month old female is hungry all the time too, and no excuses about a rough start - she's had nothing but the best from Day ONE. She can eat 5-6 times a day, 1/4 cup or more each time, sometimes begging for more! I mix wet and dry Royal Canin for kittens. Now that she's crossed the 4...

    Jekyll and Hyde

Thanks so much for the great input. It was very helpful! Mishu is better after laying low all day yesterday. I am now feeding Cola a little tiny bit of kitten food when I feed Mishu and this has helped a lot. I give Cola hers first, and make a big show of keeping the kitten from helping...

    Jekyll and Hyde

Thank you, Stephan Z. I didn't know torbies had more attitude but it makes perfect sense. They were both socialized from early on but the older one was here with us by herself for 6 weeks, so she had time to become really established. Also, she had all the attention.

    Jekyll and Hyde

Hi Catwoman, Thanks so much for the in depth analysis. It makes a lot of sense. I get it about Cola, the older one - I didn't know about torbies being so wild and dominant but it fits. Cola was raised with siblings and a bunch of other cats and people until she was four months and spayed. But...

    Jekyll and Hyde

Hi, We adopted a rescue tabby kitten (born in captivity, not on the street) who is now 7 months old, then around a month later acquired a three month old black and white kitten as a companion for her. Both are girls, and the little one isn't spayed yet. Both are super affectionate with people...
