Dear All,
Please help me increase the appetite of my cat, Cheetah. He was eating like crazy when he was 3-4 months old.
He is on raw 90% of the time. And he is becoming 1 year old next week. He weights 9 lbs. From the 3% rule, he should be eating about 4.32 oz.
He is eating less than 2 oz...
I am considering doing partially whole prey mode.
I am thinking of giving them mini rabbit, 1 day/2 week quail and chicks (I am still overcoming my fear of mice and rats).
I have found a few websites that sell those for reptiles.
They come in with fur too.
Are they okay for cats quality wise...
Cheetah was hosiptalized 2 days ago for Gastroentoritis. When Cheetah was discharged, the vet wants Cheetah to be off raw food and on Iams low residue dry.
I looked at the ingredients: Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Meal, Corn Grits, Chicken, Dried Beet Pulp, Dried Egg Product, Fish Oil...
I have made some chicken with kidney (balanced with bone and liver too). And my cats do not like it at all, won't even touch a piece of it. I haven't changed other ingredients. I have used kidney before too, but last time I did not use the dark part in the center of the kidneys.
Has anyone had...
My Cheetah, now is 7 months, 8.5 lbs but his appetite reduces to about 2-3 oz of raw food each day. While Panther, of the same age, 9.5lbs, he probably eats 8 oz per day.
They don't really chew on bones unless it is cut into small pieces, so I add calcium powder to their food to balance it. I...
I found out my kittens are eating less these few days. They just reach 6 months and are eating raw.
They used to wait for their food plate and now they will just take a few bits whenever they want to after the plate is put down.
They used to eat about 8 oz per day about 1 week ago, and now...
I found out Panther has a bald spot with 1 single acne like red spot in the middle at his belly. My brother touched it, and Panther meowed right away.
I am planning to bring him to the vet next week. But for my vet, I do not even know if there is anything available next week. At the mean time...
Cheetah is very quiet and does not meow much. He meows once in a while, I am saying once in 2-3 days.
Sometimes he meows when he goes to the kitchen, where his food is usually. Sometimes with or without food already placed in the kitchen. Sometimes meows when walking in the living room, we...
I am going to pick up some duck, turkey legs and rabbit this week from a BARF co-op. All the turkey my cats are eating now are Rad Cat commercial raw, and they love it. I hope they will also like the turkey I make.
For duck, I only gave them dry duck breast as treats before. Panther loves it...
Since I am trying different food with my 2 kittens, I found out some of the food they are allergic too. I would like to see if there is a protein that most cats are allergic to than the others.
Panther is a domestic short hair, and it is winter time (CA winter does not get too cold anyway).
But he will always have cold paws. I can feel it when he jumps on my lap.
Cheetah, who is a domestic medium hair, always have warm paws.
Is there anything I need to worry about?
I hope I am putting this in the right forum.
I would like some suggestions on feeding schedule. I know it will be better for cats to be on a fixed feeding schedule, but it is somehow a challenge for me.
First of all, I work 3 days in the office each week, which one of them is a Sunday. So on...
I have been spoiling my cats by warming their food for them (except dry food of course). When I started feeding raw, I will but the raw food in a bowl and put it in a bowl of warm water.
It is difficult to tell if they are warm enough, but at the same time not cook them. So I kinda guess.
Then...
I am looking for an automatic feeder for my kittens. I do prefer them to work very well with wet food. Right now I am free feeding them dry and they do not seem to over eat anyway. One thing is because they are kittens, and another reason is they like raw food more. Panther will eat dry, he...
Panther threw up Friday night after a big meal (I accidentally gave them too much).
He threw up just now again, he probably threw up ALL the food he ate today, because I can see his breakfast.
I work 6 am to 6 pm shift, and I had experience of him eating too much dry food when I was gone and...
Okay this sounds silly, but I would like to know how you separate your meals.
Since I am in the transition, and I have also brought commercial raw meals, this what I do.
I make a week's portion with chicken, then I mix it really well. Then I put it into baby food jars, assuming each jar has...
It hasn't got into a problem yet, but.... here is the story.
2 days ago, when I was taking a nap in the sofa, Cheetah came to me and slept on my chest. Then he put his face really close to my lips and lick my chin like always. Then he gave me a love bite on my lips. I made a light scream and...
I have 2 almost 5 months old kitties and slowly transitioning them to raw feeding. I am pretty new to raw feeding, so I have the following questions:
1) How do you prepare sardines for your kitties? Just throw them the whole fish, or you cut them in pieces? With head and all organs? I threw...
