Are they testing his urine for infection and crystals? Did they consider that he might be blocked and did they prescribe an antibiotic? I’m concerned that your new vet isn’t addressing all of the pertinent issues. And it concerns me that your first vet seemingly didn’t catch that his bladder was...
I would also try this product. I’ve had great luck with it over the years:
VETOQUINOL Pro-Pectalin Anti-Diarrhea Oral Gel Dog & Cat Supplement, 30-cc syringe - Chewy.com
And I’d also try a grain free, limited ingredient diet.
I went through what you’re going through with my own CKD cat. Getting him to eat enough became a constant struggle by the time he was 17 or so. We had certain tricks that worked and it took a lot of persistence. When even those became less effective, we resorted to Mirtazapine. It usually worked...
I’d make sure to have her thyroid level checked. Increased vocalization can be a sign of a hyperactive thyroid. Has she been hungrier of late and/or has she lost weight?
As probiotics go, I’ve had much better luck with Propectalin than Fortaflora at getting diarrhea under control. You can get it from but your vet may sell it too. But there does seem to be something more serious going on that I hope you’re able to figure out.
Admittedly, it is easier to use a rectal thermometer with two people, but it’s never been as hard as I feared it would be. It helps to watch a video or two. I’ve typically felt compelled to take a cat’s temp to see if it’s coming down after treatment has begun, more for my own peace of mind...
You might ask the vet about a B12 deficiency and supplementation. CKD cats tend to urinate more and lose B12. That in turn can cause muscle weakness. The same goes with potassium.
If you haven’t had a full blood panel done in a while, I’d start there.
I have often used Propectalin following an antibiotic to bring stools back to normal.

My cat went through what we assumed was a flare. It lasted for the better part of 7 weeks. I tried several homeopathic remedies, including Lysine, and he was given antibiotics in case of a secondary infection. None of these helped him.
When it spread to his eyes (prior to that he’d primarily...
We lost a senior cat (Henry) in 2018. In the last two years of his life, he largely ignore his younger playmate (Izzy) and she learned to keep to herself. Henry didn’t hiss at her as yours is, but the end result was the same. We didn’t see a huge reaction from Izzy when Henry finally passed. We...
My last two kittens had intermittent loose stools notwithstanding clean fecal exams.I found good success with Propectalin,

Just be mindful to stop the medication when the stools firm up or you’ll...
We tried a lot of tricks to get our CKD to eat in the last couple years of his 19 year long life. Here are some of them. He preferred freshly opened canned of food and often preferred to eat it straight out of the can. He would sometimes eat the food if we topped it with a Temptations treat or...
I have one cat who is happy to eat wet food but only if we sprinkle a bit of Fortaflora on top. It’s not the cheapest solution but either is throwing away uneaten wet food. And since she also refuses to drink water, this allows us to keep her hydrated. I’d suggest adding a bit of water to...
And she has no other signs of illnes, even just subtle? Any eye discharge or squinting? It could be a neurological issue I suppose. When my cat’s were more visible recently, he initially saw his ophthalmologist because he wasn’t yet showing any signs of an upper respiratory infection/herpes...
