Kittens have no tails and seems that they have swimmer syndrome or manx syndrome

I have a similar cat, little or no tail, back leg bunny hops, and seems to have little or no control over feces. Pees in litter box or on pee pads, but poops whenever the urge strikes. Right now I'm supplementing her wet foods with pumpkin powder and psyllium powder to firm things up a bit...

Has anyone tried slippery elm bark for their cat?

I have used slippery elm for a long time, with a cat who was prone to constipation/obstipation. I make a syrup with 1 cup water and 1 tablespoon slippery elm powder, boiling it until it thickens. When it cools I can pour a tablespoon or two over his wet food and he laps it up. He also takes...

Cat can't control feces after rectal prolapse surgeries

He does this with all foods. It's marginally better with the Prescription Hill's Biome.

Cat can't control feces after rectal prolapse surgeries

We've seen five different vets in this rural area. I clean him with water-based fragrance free wipes when I can, but I can't stand over him all the time. He occasionally has semi-formed soft stools, so I don't think he's constipated. I don't know if the rescue group will fund a visit to a...

Cat can't control feces after rectal prolapse surgeries

I have a 2 year old cat who came to me through a rescue for which I foster. This cat came to us with a prolapsed rectum and had two surgeries to correct it. He has been on various foods and is now on Hill's Prescription Gastrointestinal Biome and is getting 1 mg prednisone daily. He doesn't...

Has anyone tried slippery elm bark for their cat?

I have an elderly cat who suffers from constipation. I have used slippery elm in the past, boiling the powder in water to make a sort of syrupy broth. I then poured this over his wet food; he seemed to tolerate it well. I keep it on hand, but am now using Miralax and a product called Pet BM...

    Wild Cats...

I am caring for 4 3-4 week old kittens. I've done this before, but these are the most active, wildest kits I've ever dealt with. Any suggestions about calming them down a bit?

    Albon For Coccidia In Kittens

I give it by syringe and they just swallow it. Occasionally one spits a little out, but not often. They usually take it pretty well. I give it right before a feeding, when they're going to eat immediately after and get the taste out of their mouths.

    "premium" Food Vs "economy" Food

Me too. I had to investigate carbs when one of my cats was diagnosed with diabetes. She didn't make it; had a very hard to control glucose level, but I ended up feeding her Fancy Feast Classic pates, since that seemed to have a fairly low carb content and she would eat it! Had to argue the...

    Diarrhea In Rescue Kittens

I'm fostering four abandoned kittens, who have developed a yellow diarrhea with occasional spots of blood. They've been to the vet and have been wormed with Strongid and Albon, and had a fecal test done, which showed nothing out of the ordinary. I'm experimenting with introducing solids (they...
