Neko's body language when she goes for Calvin could tell you something. Is she going at him hissing and yowling, teeth and claws? Or is it more sneaking up on him, jumping on him, nipping, no claws? If the first, you definitely need to backtrack and reintroduce. If the second, that's more...
I'm not expert, but as far as I understand with wet food you don't have to feed a specific kitten formula. The portions for kittens are just adjusted. I fed Sheba Cuts to both of my cats even when my younger one was a kitten.
I currently get Canidae Pure Elements (?) chicken dry formula now...
I mean, I don't give my cats hours of attention, but they get to seek me or my husband out as they please. I got my older cat, Jethro, when I was in college. Being a shelter cat he had some behavior problems that didn't really get better until I gave him the attention he deserves and also...
I’m also trying to avoid using a pill gun and traumatizing him. As I said, he took a pill in a pill pocket (a pain med following vaccines; he was lethargic and had a slight limp the next day) when he was a kitten just fine.
Yup. I tried it crushed up in canned food today with no luck. Normally my boys go crazy for canned food because I don’t feed it regularly (the bulk of their diet is Canidae dry). So I thought I would try it since the pill pockets obviously failed. I mixed the Drontal into Sheba chicken cuts...
Try Sheba! It’s less expensive than a lot of other brand, but the ingredients are decent (meat first, low grain, etc). I like the cuts for my cats (meat bits as opposed to the paté). My older boy Jethro tends to throw up pâtés.
Aside from the cats, my husband has Max the Military Macaw. The smallest bedroom in our house is his aviary. We keep him separate since he's not flighted, and my older cat didn't grow up with him. He's ornery, but we love him.
Sending good thoughts your way!! It's horrible when our fur babies are sick. My childhood cats both fell ill while I was away at college, and it was horrible. The first had all of the typical symptoms of mysterious illness/old age (though he was only 13). He practically stopped eating and...
Thanks! Love your tortie! My father-in-law used to have a tortie and a calico, and my friend who fostered Wicket has a crew of torties and calicos. For some reason orange tabbies, calicos, and torties are rather common where I live. But I feel a special connection to them because I'm also a...
Hey, all!
I’m the proud mama of Jethro and Wicket. They’re both orange tabbies and rescues from the local shelter.
Jethro is my mama’s boy. He’s about 7 years old, and we’ve had him for almost six years. He was at the local humane society, and gave me a paw and the “look” through the...
Yup, looks like feline acne. My Jethro gets it regularly. I had to get rid of all plastic and unknown metal dishes and go with ceramic only. He also gets stress blemishes though, so it’s unavoidable. If it’s really bad I try to treat with benzoyl peroxide. Otherwise I just let it run it’s...
Hey all! New here, but I’ve had cats pretty much my entire life.
Anyway, I have two orange tabbies. This concerns the younger of the two, Wicket. He’s just over 15 months, over 11 pounds, and indoor only. We had a flea infestation over the summer when we let a friend crash at our house with...
