Update- took him to the vet and they tested for panleukopenia, which was negative. They injected him with anti nausea medication and gave him bland canned food as well as metronidazole for anti diarrhea.
Hello. I adopted my 2 month old kitten, Meatball, on Monday. He has been dewormed already, so I know this isn’t a parasite issue. His previous owner showed me his vet papers and he has been to the vet very recently, so I don’t know what is causing this other than food issues. Since Tuesday, he...
Update: he had diarrhea and vomited this morning, so I made the pedialyte for him and gave him a teaspoon of canned pumpkin, which he loved. His previous owner said to just give him fluids for 24 hours, but I think that’s too long. Should I feed him wet food mixed with the pumpkin?
No, he has not. I talked to the pervious owner and she said that he just has a sensitive stomach from the food being switched and it is normal. He used to eat Iams Sensitive Stomach and I switched it to Purina Kitten chow, but I think that made his stomach worse, so I bought Blue Buffalo...
I posted earlier about Meatball having diarrhea this morning, but he just vomited right now... I bought him no-grain kitten chow since I believe the Purina kitten chow is the culprit of his diarrhea. I don't know what to do...
Okay, will do. How do I introduce new food slowly? I was thinking of mixing the Purina chow and the grain free food, but I think the Purina chow is causing him to have an upset stomach.
Also, he did cover his poop the first day he came home, but after that he has not done so. I noticed that he was pawing at the litter for quite a bit. That’s why I think that it’s the litter’s type that’s attributing to his behavior.
Yup, the Purina chow is the problem. I was looking at reviews that a lot of people recommended Orijen, but the price is a little out of my budget. I’m thinking of getting Blue Wilderness grain free or the brand you recommended. Thank you!
Thank you for your input! He has been using the litter box and hasn’t made any accidents outside of it, but not covering his poop is making the house stink up a little so I’m thinking that the culprit is the Purina chow...
Hello everyone! I recently adopted a kitten of about 9 weeks old and he has been the sweetest ever. However, I noticed that he doesn’t cover his poop and it is orange; he poops around 3-4 times a day. I did some research and people said that it could be his food. I have been feeding him Purina...
