Cat May Have Worms, Can't Go To The Vet Atm

Alright, good to know! My cat is due for a yearly checkup soon, so I'll ask them to check no matter what happens with the dewormer (as in, if it was worms and it works then great, but check up anyway, and if it's not worms then oh well, the check up will deal with that)

Cat May Have Worms, Can't Go To The Vet Atm

I got drontal, which is often used by vets so I assume it's safe-ish and which will deal with tapeworms and roundworms, and will follow the weight restrictions. I'll be very careful to monitor my cat and bring him to the vet if anything happens. If the dewormer doesn't work, I'll bring him in...

Cat May Have Worms, Can't Go To The Vet Atm

Thank you! I'll try the dewormer, and if that does nothing then I'll bring him in for a visit! That being said, is it normal for a young cat to get anal gland problems? I thought those were fairly rare in cats..?

Cat May Have Worms, Can't Go To The Vet Atm

Hi, so we bought some dewormer (drontal) which will be coming in a few days (2-3). I haven't actually seen worms, but he has had some very wet poops (which do not smell good) and yesterday he was scooting his butt on the floor (left some lovely poop for me to clean up after!) so we're assuming...

Food Easy On Recovering Kitty Stomach?

The vet mainly told us to be careful with his stomach as it is still inflamed from the food poisoning. She told us that he could eat normally (and recommended Fromm as a brand for everyday feeedings) and then mentioned baby food, pumpkin, and making food for him ourselves with chicken, and that...

Food Easy On Recovering Kitty Stomach?

This is about food, not health, so just hear me out: My Spock has been sick for over a week now, he's recovering nicely, but still throwing up daily (the vet told us not to worry, so we're not worrying) and I'm wondering if there's anything I can give him that'll go easy on his stomach...

White, Foam-like Vomit And No Eating?

Update: X-rays showed nothing and Spock got some meds and fluids and everything. No food or water for another 2 hours and we'll see if he throws up again, either way I'm calling back tomorrow to give them updates.

White, Foam-like Vomit And No Eating?

Spock seems to be trying to pass a hairball or something except this is the second day now that he goes without eating and his litter's unused this morning which is highly unusual. I'm 100% taking him to the vet tomorrow if he's still not eating and not using the litter. The type of vomit tells...

    Kitten's Appetite Seems To Drop?

Update: I put some food in his mouth, so that he could spit it out if he wanted, and he ate it and is now sitting at his bowl, eating. Idk why, but if he keeps going like that I think I can safely say that he's all good.

    Kitten's Appetite Seems To Drop?

He tries, but we keep it clean when we can. And he doesn't put them in his mouth, only plays with them until he gets bored, which is both a source of stress and relief not gonna lie! We definitely keep him away from human food, because it's usually not good for him, so that's not a risk. If I...

    Kitten's Appetite Seems To Drop?

He doesn't seem to have any discharge. I'll definitely go to the vet if he doesn't really eat for a while, cause I know it's not good for him, but he seems completely fine, which is slightly confusing. He also seemed excited for his wet food until I put it in his bowl, so maybe he's just bored...

    Kitten's Appetite Seems To Drop?

I feel like i'm posting here every other day, however Spock, little rascal that he is, didn't eat as much as usual yesterday, which can happen, I know, but today I give him his dry and wet food, and he ate two bites of each and stopped. He seems completely fine, no vomit, regular litter use...

Cat Kneads A Cushion In A Cat Bed And Looks At The Height Of Relaxation, Why?

I have a cat named Spock (he's great) and we got him, originally as a foster kinda, to help us deal with the loss of our previous cat who was incredibly young, Cacahuète (it means Peanut). Now Spock's favourite place, or one of, is the bed we had for her, which he uses too, except we turned the...

Come Look At My New Kitten And Help Me Possibly Name Her?

Personally I think Penelope fits, she looks like a little lady lol

5mo Kitten Lost A Tooth, Some Bleeding From Gums, Doesn't Look Bothered

Just to update both of you, Spock is on one can of wet a day, plus kibbles, and I make sure he has fresh water. His stools are normal even with the wet food, so I'm over the moon, and he's still growing his little adult teeth! I'm glad I tried the wet food again, so thanks for convincing me. I...

    Swollen Belly?

I think your cat knew you loved her, and she knew you were sad. I think she knew she was dying because cats are so intelligent, they know those things. I think her meows were her response to you, like a child telling their parents that it's okay to be sad, but it's their time. She loved you, she...

Am I Just Anxious For No Reason...?

So with Spock I've been having daily small panic attacks because I love him and he's been "sick" (or not doing great) more than my other cats ever have. I can finally give him wet food, as long as he also has dry food, and it's been completely fine poop-wise so I'm over the moon, however I now...

5mo Kitten Lost A Tooth, Some Bleeding From Gums, Doesn't Look Bothered

I've been trying, patés that are more protein based don't agree, anything with pees seems to not agree. Right now it's wet kibbles and water, and hopefully I'll find something eventually haha Most of the cats I've had (even as a child) mainly ate kibbles, often wet, and it's only when I got the...

5mo Kitten Lost A Tooth, Some Bleeding From Gums, Doesn't Look Bothered

I've been looking for a halfway thing, but I also tend to wet his kibbles a bit, he adores it. Purely wet food doesn't work very well on his digestive track, so maybe a raw diet would work, or compensating with pumpkin. I've been planning to talk to a vet about what diet he can recommend anyway :)

5mo Kitten Lost A Tooth, Some Bleeding From Gums, Doesn't Look Bothered

Haha, he'll be getting a treat and a dental care toy! And for Christmas, some wet food, which gives him horrible gas but which he loves. Given that he's on kibble and fresh water, I'm sure the toy and wet food will leave him on a happy little cloud for a few weeks
