@Winchester    I know you are a fan of Trader Joe's..

I tried a new sample out yesterday.. It was so good that I bought it for myself.

It was a their new, "green" tahini, mixed with their canned chicken, on top of a bed of arugula.  So good.

I hesitatingly, thought of the canned chicken.. I mean, yuck. but....

I had it tonight for supper.

I opened the can of chicken.. I was very happily surprised to see it is chunks of breast meat. It is in a lot of broth, but, it looks and tastes really good. It would be good for a quick chicken salad also.

I mixed some of the green herb tahini with it, to taste...

Left it in the refrigerator for several hours for the flavors to really set in.

I served it to myself, on a bed of arugula (mixed with some EVOO), with some tomatoes on the side.

Was that good!! Yummy...

The tahini has a very strong smell.. herbey with garlic.. so good....

You may want to get to your local TJ's for this tahini. I think it is one of those 'seasonal' things..

I think it would be also taste good mixed with some tuna...or even salmon...

The arugula provides a somewhat peppery flavor to it..

@Artiemom, thanks for the  heads-up. Unfortunately, our closest TJ's is about 60 miles from here, so we don't get out there too often. I'll say something to Rick about a road trip!

The oven-seared chicken (in the cast iron pan) was simply delicious last night. So good.

Not sure about tonight.....we have a ton of restaurant gift cards and Rick would like to go out for dinner. He's thinking maybe Longhorn. It's been ages since I had a steak. We have a lot of work to get done today, though, so I don't know how that will go.

We ended up at Longhorn last night. I had a Caesar salad (without croutons), two smaller slices of bread, a dry baked potato and a 6-ounce sirloin (rare). Unsweetened iced tea.  And then we stopped at Rita's for a small raspberry lemonade gelati for dessert. Oh well. It was all delicious. I wanted a margarita, but decided against it.

I'm making pan-fried pork chops with dirty rice tonight for our dinner. It's from the Cook It in Cast Iron book again.

We're going to grill some salmon steaks, using the peach-chipotle grilling sauce. With a bit of salad.

I quickly defrosted some mince tonight well this afternoon and i have whipped up a spag bol minus the spaghetti and just having pasta twists.  I have stuck a ton of chilli in it to make it nice and spicey, my thinking is enjoy it now before I have to start cooking for Blaine again who cant have it :D

Stewed hard crabs with gravy, shrimp and cornmeal dumplings cooked in the pot. Comfort food from the South

We are doing pork chops on the grill tonight for supper. Not sure what we're having with them yet, probably more salad. (Sometimes I think we live on chops and salad during the summer)

I love pork chops but my husband doesn't so we don't eat them often.

I'm making chicken and broccoli casserole today.

BBQ chicken breasts on the grill. I took a boneless, skinless breast from the freezer last night and threw it in the fridge to thaw. I'm thinking of throwing a couple potatoes on the grill, too. And I may saute some Brussels sprouts as a side.

Probably leftovers. Last night I made a pan of roasted rutabagas with smoked sausage on top. We also had sautéed cabbage., There is enough to eat again.
