Thanks for all the ideas! We just adopted him a few weeks back, so when he took him to the vet they wanted to make sure he's dewormed (doing Revolution), and want to do a fecal exam just to make sure he doesn't have any parasite/worms, since his foster mum found him on the side of the road...

Two of our cats were adopted from http://www.purebredcatrescue.org and they are great to work with - I don't know it works though if you try to adopt cats from the US if you live in Canada? You can always email them and ask... They had people driving from New Jersey and South Carolina to adopt...
