EJ, after ignoring all videos for his first 2 months here, discovered the lizard last night. He's still in the stage where he kept looking behind the screen to find it. He was completely baffled, and I kinda wish he wasn't such a smart cat because I would be thrilled if he never figured it out.

That's reassuring! Sometimes he's just so nonchalant when getting bopped repeatedly in the face, it's comical. Maybe she's not as stressed as I think she is.

I don't have much advice, but I can sympathize with your anxiety about both underfeeding and overfeeding. It's hard with cats because 'they'll eat the food I put out if they're truly hungry' isn't an approach that applies to all cats. My ~8.2 lb 3yo cat gets 6oz total of her wet food each day...
