Hello! I posted a while back abut some stray kittens and a mom someone had dumped and I fostered, and while the mom and two kittens were re-homed, I had to end up keeping two unfortunately. I'm still hoping to re-home them as soon as a rescue or home can take them, as unfortunately, living with my parents who have dogs and their own cats including my own one cat, they aren't the most willing to bring them inside permanently. They do have a heated room, beds, etc., clean water, food, etc. though! I'm still hoping I can better provide for them or find homes, but I'm doing all I can at the moment.
But, I have an issue I've never really had with a cat before though. One of the two cats, the more social one, seems to try to eat toys when he plays? He loves chasing toys, so I got a long 'fishing pole' toy with various attachments that he likes to chase. With the feathers especially though, I have been hesitant to really let him play with them even when supervised because he tried to eat them. I tried switching to little mice toys since I was worried the feathers were unsafe if he ingested any, and the same issue was still there. I was unable to add images for some reason, but he managed to rip a hole into one toy and the feather tease toy he is no longer allowed to play with after ripping part of it (that being the first toy that was confiscated after fear of ingestion). Is there a reason he is doing this while no other cat I have owned has had this issue? Additionally, if it is just really aggressive play, any sturdy toys you could recommend that he could chase so that he can still play without having to worry about ingesting anything or hurting his teeth?
