Spent a good part of Sunday evening watching Masterpieces Season Two of "All Creatures Great and Small".
I love that series.. So well written. Such great characters, and story line..
I think PBS will be showing both seasons 3 and 4 this year. I know the US is one season behind what is playing in the UK..
Cannot wait.. although I record it, to savor later.. Like a fine wine!!

I agree. I viewed this on Iowa PBS. Where I have also been recording "Around the world in 80 days" as it becomes available.

Worried about the upcoming semester. Because I had to move far away, I am no longer close to campus and still have 8 months to get through before graduating. I can still get to classes but I'd be half and hour to an hour and a half late and might have to leave early for some to make it back. No one is really willing to put me up for 3 days so I will have to travel back and forth. Luckily, classes are only 3 days a week but still... it's thesis year so will be very busy. I tried to explain my situation to my instructors but I don't know if they are willing to make slight changes to accommodate my needs. I don't have enough money to rent somewhere closer and I can't afford a car. I applied to a few scholarships but not sure if any will give me anything. I saved up the money I made from my internship but I only have just enough for the budget I'm currently on and nothing extra. I will also be working part-time during the semester... God, I really hope I'm able to handle this. I'm incredibly worried.

I hope you can make it to classes. Just a question:how can it be between 30 - 90 minutes to get to class? Is it traffic?
I remember when I was taking a program at a community college, it was at least 45 minutes to get there. I allowed over an hour, due to traffic concerns, sometimes, in bad weather, I allowed 90 minutes for travel time.. Coming home, I was not concerned how long it took me.. I was always early, hanging out in the lounge or the cafeteria, before classes..
My clinical was always a 30 minute drive.

Many times I fell asleep while I was studying in bed. I remember so many times when I would wake up, book in lap, lights on, and it being the middle of the night...

I know you are staying with BF.. but, would he understand, be supportive, as to how important this is to you??
It may have been a bit easier for me. I was living at home, at the time.. but I was going to college full time, had a clinical rotation, had extra volunteer clinical at another site, and was working part time..

I had one day off every 2 weeks.. I took my books everywhere with me.
I literally had pneumonia my first semester. I never missed a class. I did miss 2 clinical days. My cough and symptoms lasted all semester and further. I went to classes when I was feverish and coughing up junk.. I would not let anything stop me.. I was determined.

I know you can do it..I really do.. I have faith and confidence in you!! ❤

I remember my mom-- Bless her soul, would come upstairs to my bedroom around 8pm, bringing me some hot chocolate, while I was studying...

Honestly, I hope you can find a way to complete these courses. They are so important to you...((Hugs)))

You have come so far.. please do not give up.. I sincerely hope you can find a way to work this out. It is so important to you and your future... (((hugs))

i wish we had a rainy season here
Well, when the dinosaurs roamed, you did! :) You DO have a new “tree officer” (Rachel Malarich) as of 2019. They plan to plant 93,000 new trees in LA and start “micro forests.” Long term planning, I realize, but maybe the GF & you could jam a Tupelo, Jacaranda or whatever is your most favorite tree out there, somewhere. Even a teeny bit of more shade helps fights this heat!! :tree::tree::tree:

Thank you. This means a lot. The commute is long because I have to take a train which takes 2 hours to get into the city and then a bus to get to my actual campus.

Bf is very understanding and offered to pick me up part way to make things easier for me but he will be going to school too so I don't want to stress him out with having to come get me. He also offered to give me extra money if I run short for school but I also don't want to take anything from him if I can avoid it.

My instructors are willing to work around my situation and help and so I think everything will be fine. Being on campus was anxiety inducing a little bit though because it seems they have brought all the students from all the programs back to campus at once. Barely anyone had no mask and there was no physical distancing at all. It will only take one case for that place to have an abundance of covid cases. I give it a month. There are students coming in from all over southern Ontario. I just hope the school is able to handle such a scenario.

I know of one of my classes being partly hybrid. But not sure on the exact details. Will get more information tomorrow.

Feeling good after yesterdays COVID booster. It’s 80’s outside and who knows how many more of those we will have so I just finished washing outside windows, all 32 of them. I had bought some product that you sprayed on and was supposed to leave them clean and streak free but it didn’t so I did them all the old fashioned bucket and squeegee way.

Good for you that you have that big job completed.

I had my ablation done last Wednesday, and it is, so far, successful. I go in tomorrow for my post-op EKG. However, since my stroke, I can hear my heartbeat in my right ear, and I know that it is chugging along just fine! No more stuttering, adding beats, skipping beats, just a steady, gentle "lub-dub." YAY!
