Sorry you are having such a hard time. I never had kids but my sisters did. It will be much easier when they get older. Just think, every birthday they are older. Early happy birthday! I workout in the morning so I have to make room. Then vacuum and Mop. If I didn't work out it wouldn't get done. Hope things get better for you

I'm feeling sad, frustrated, tired, and angry a lot of the time. I feel like I'm not being a good parent and I'm definitely not doing well with household upkeep.
My darlin' girl...every mother in the world has felt this way...or they're not mothering much at all. And it runs in cycles. This, too, shall pass. There will come a day when all you see is sunshine and rainbows. It won't last, but it will come, and will come again, and again...just as will the gray skies and lightning flashes. The first three years are the toughest, the most fraught. It settles a good bit after that, for almost everyone. Breathe deep, and know that you are not alone!

This is 100% true. Every mama experiences this. My daughter is 27 and I still question whether I'm doing enough for her. Am I there for her enough? Am I being overbearing?

Lari Lari It just means that you love J immensely and want to be the best you can be for her. You are passing with flying colors. You need to make sure you are taking care of yourself physically and emotionally too. Take breaks. Rely on others to help out. We moms tend to ignore our own needs because our little ones need us. You are a wonderful mother. :hugs:

Lari Lari Oh No' please dp not even thing that for a minute! You are an Awesome Mom. :itslove:
You have done and are still doing all that you can for J. From the moment of conception and continuing forward, you are her rock.. You are full of love!

I think things are just getting to you, and you are feeling a bit overwhelmed. J is getting into things, more and more.. asserting her independence; becoming more demanding. You have to constantly keep an eye on her, to stop here from doing anything harmful.
If you were not a good mom, you would not feel this way..

Also, You have been on such a restricted diet, for so long.. things are just overwhelming.. And your birthday is upcoming
And Covid did a number on all of us.
You are accustomed to being employed---having a career.. Now, you are a full time mom.. It has to be too much.
The fact that you are so devoted to J---- 24/7 without a break, makes You a SUPER MOM!! 🦸‍♀️

Is it possible to have someone watch J for a few hours... an entire afternoon, or even a day? Your mom, or at least a close friend who you trust, and can share playdates with? This way, you can get some time to yourself---do whatever you want, and just be yourself for several hours.

Even moms need a break...

(((Hugs)))

PS... Happy Birthday, in advance...💕💕

Had the best Saturday I have had in a very long time. Husband, oldest, and I sat in the living room pretty much all day and just talked. We haven't seen much of the oldest lately because he is working overnight during the Summer to avoid the heat. (He installs electrical boxes for cell phone towers).

He is usually gone from 3pm-5am most days. I might see him for a few minutes before he leaves for work but usually he has already left. He will come home, shower, and be asleep by the time my husband gets up at 7am.

Anyway, it was so nice to just sit and talk yesterday. It is very strange to live with someone but never see them all week. He would always text me that he got home safe but that was our only communication until yesterday.

It just feels like so much work to even get childcare. My parents aren't always available. They can't watch her when I do my podiatrist follow up Thursday, but fortunately my niece was available. My husband took her out last night for a bit over an hour and I basically showered and tried to get things done around the house.

We put some paper over the windows and it's cloudy, so she did sleep until 8 today instead of like 5:30, so that does help a little.

I am in a seriously bad bad mood. I glanced outside tonight and my backyard tree, a 20 year old Linden, looked strangely wilted. Went outdoors and four massive branches maybe 30 feet up have split off and are just hanging. So I will need to find a tree trimmer tomorrow and probably spend big dollars to get them removed. We will see if the tree survives it because they are a tree that is supposed to only be trimmed in Spring and fall.

Will tree trimmer also have the knowledge of an arborist? Hopefully they can explain why it’s happening and/or how to nurture it. Or maybe if it has to come down you could take a graft of it or a seed and restart? Fingers crossed…let us know what happens.

Thanks. It was just a month or two ago that my neighbor’s tree branch fell down and took out a section of my fence. What it looks like happened with mine was one large branch split and came down breaking the three others below it. Unfortunately none of them have fully broken off so they are just hanging there. We have had heavy winds a few times so maybe it was damaged then. But I do need to find out what if anything can be done to prevent further disease or damage.

We had tree trimmers (who were also certified arborists) in a couple of years ago to remove one tree and trim another. They were surprisingly reasonable. I hope you have the same outcome! :vibes:

Thanks you. I had a spindly, not that tall, pine taken down last year and it was $1500. Maybe its our area but anything to do with trees is expensive here. I don’t think he is an arborist but a young man who does tree trimming on the side came out and looked at the tree this afternoon . He seemed exceptionally knowledgeable about what needed to be trimmed and how to do it plus his price was reasonable. He doesn’t haul away the brush, just climbs the tree and does the cutting but I can handle the rest. He will come back on Friday to do the work and I feel so relieved.

Their name maybe "Mud" in my Eyes if this problem doesn't get fixed soon.
How goes it with Electrolux? I ask in part, cos I’m using my neighbor’s washing machine, and it’s a rare treat! If you decide to go the route of getting your money back, this one’s a sturdy clear top loader, and it’s great watching it “think” about how much water to use. Very quiet. It says it’s an LG inverter direct drive. (I realized why I love the name of yours so much: Lux Old Time Radio! Good stuff w/ Orson Welles etc).

Margot, I'm awaiting The repairman as I write. I have been waiting since 8am. I think this repairman is coming from Out of town. My text msg. Indicated that Electrolux had set up the service call, not the dealer. Supposedly the repairman should arrive before 5pm. Time is running out.
