Okay, so her kittens will be full Persian. Go ahead and plan for a neuter for your male Persian. Will they be registered and papered Persians or not?

Regardless, Persian births CAN be more complicated due to the shape of their heads; however, many and most, Persians deliver without complications, BUT, you should be prepared to call your vet OR an emergency vet for a C-section if she has difficulty because if a kitten is stuck it can die, as can the kittens behind it waiting to be born. Persian births are known to be the most problematic cat births of all. Not to scare you, but you need to be ready.

That being said, you probably should discuss this with your vet and make plans in case your cat has difficulty once she goes into labor. Again, Persians are bred daily and deliver just fine. We just don’t know. I think you should be prepared in case your cat has difficulty. It’s the wide shape of their heads that can experience difficulty getting through the birth canal and the vagina.

All may go well with your cat and I hope it does, but be prepared for a C-section on an emergency basis if not.

Please do keep us posted!

Thank you so much for taking the time to send such a helpful response, I really appreciate it. Blaze is booked to be neutered on the 18th May. They are both pedigree with papers. The vet who confirmed the pregnancy weeks ago said she could feel 2 possibly 3 kittens. I am going to keep one, and I have a friend who may be able to take the other/2.
Toula seems blissfully unaware and is content to sleep, eat a little and sleep again. She has snuggled up to me this morning and is following me around, purring. Her tummy felt hard then soft last night unless my imagination is tricking me.
Regarding a c section i have discussed it with the vet who quoted £1500 if it occurs Monday to Friday between 9 to 5. I am praying it won’t come to that.
It’s my sons birthday today so we have everything crossed today will be a happy day celebrating 2 birthdays. X

I’m feeling very anxious with my vets, what would you do, am over reacting? I took her in just now for a scan appointment. Yesterday I was told it would be done whilst I wait. Not at all the case, it’s now she’s been booked into the hospital, as they said she was to be sedated. Thank goodness I read on here that it’s not necessary so I said absolutely not. Vet felt kittens move yesterday, but nurse today asked if I want to know how many had passed! Toula is fine in herself, calm , looks as happy as a hippo in a mud bath. No discharge quite content.

little update. Lots of movement, 2/3 kittens alive and kicking showed on Fridays Scan. There was a little discharge Saturday night along with lots and lots of movement since, which looks like little ripples, and lots of grooming. This morning she won't stop eating, which reminded me of me just before labour lol. She seems alert and not at all sleepy, not distressed, alternating between my bed, nesting box and wardrobe . Her tummy has felt a little taught since Saturday I really hope this is the beginning xx

Is it normal for there to be fresh blood? She’s straining every few minutes, there’s not a lot of blood, but it’s dripping. X

Hi my cat Toula is ignoring the kittens cry, they are cold, both have lost weight. They are 3 days old and she hasn’t been overly attentive.I introduced a heat pad to their nest, as being left so often they were cold, mum removed the kittens to a corner under a wardrobe about 2 hours ago. They have been on and of crying for over an hour, I can’t see her but I’ve heard her growl at them. She’s left them again crying under the wardrobe do I move them. ?

It may be best you take the charge, and handfeed them. Keeping warm, etc...

With a little luck, her mother instintc may kick in later, but I suspect you must step in here yes. Lotsa job, but can be done. They had also got the good first milk, so they are ahead of some orphans...

As they had a momma, they may be reluctant to a bottle. You will need to use a syringe or a dropper. You may try to have a miracle nipple on these...
Its a little tricky, so train some on a doll... :)

A good kmr, perhaps based on goats milk if you can find one, or raw goats milk.

My vet just said the same as you. Do I keep them away from her, in a room that she can’t get to?
