Any ideas on how these will turn out?

Hi :) My cats Perla and Draco (Draco is my profile pic) welcomed 5 kittens this morning. Both of my cats are Ragdoll mixes, they are the results of my Aunts unrelated breeding queens escaping to the local park. :D Perla is a shorthair chocolatey black with amber eyes, Draco is a long hair blue Tabby with green eyes, their kittens are black with silver Tabby markings everywhere but their backs. What is this called as when I look online I have searched Black cat with Tabby face or point and it only shows me black cats or seal point etc.

Domestic shorthair, black or dark tabby, and absolutely gorgeous! Hoping and praying all will be spayed/neutered including Mom once kittens stop feeding from her and she stops lactating.

I agree with tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 that you appear to have at least one solid black kitten, the others appear to be brown tabby (black-based tabby).

Tabby kittens often look very dark on the back when they are just born. The tabby pattern on the body will develop as they grow.

Yes the parents will both be getting done, I have only bred them so we can have a little family within the family. 😣We have 7 cats all together not including the kittens and 5 are black, one is black and white and there's Draco who is blue Tabby. I love the black cats, they are so sleek. I am not bothered for monetary reasons, I would keep them all in a shot. 😁 I guess I am just excited. 🖤❤

Good on ya! As long as people are responsible, caring, and able, there's no reason not to have a large furmily. I did for years. And black and tortoiseshell cats are my favorite, aesthetically speaking (though I love ALL cats).

All have white/silver tummies with black spots or stripes and a couple of silver/white stripes on the face, one only has a couple of stripes round the mouth and has black on the rest of it's head and back. They aren't like the blacks I had growing up ( our cat in the 80s had 6 litters of all black or tortoiseshell) . I am really proud of our Perla, she is a brilliant mum, she is loving every minute of it. 🖤 thank you all for your thoughts.

Black-based tabby kittens often start out with a cool grayish background color, and develop warmer brownish tones as they mature. As they grow, you will see the color and pattern develop over time. Kittens go through many coat changes on the way to maturity.

"Silver" means a tabby that has a white undercoat, and white at the base of each hair. They don't appear to be silver in the pictures, but it's not always easy to tell at birth. Since silver is a dominant gene, the kittens can only be silver if one of the parents is smoke or silver.

So some of them might turn out silver tabby-ish, though silvertabs are pretty rare these days especially in random cat populations. They are beautiful cats. There's another TCS member, silvercrazy, who shares life with some, if you're interested in seeing.

The one at the bottom is just like our oldest girl Luna, she is Perla's older sister. We call her the mummy though as she has taken over with every new kitten we have had. I love my cat family, sooio much easier than hubby n kids 😂❤🖤

I hear ya. I'm divorced and I definitely agree, though life can be hard when you're single, too. Never interested in kids!!! so made sure I wouldn't have them.
That's Calo in the black silk suit :redheartpump::bigeyes::redheartpump: I called him "the Bullcat" because he was bowlegged in front and barrel-chested, like a bulldog. He was very brave and a guardian of two other cats who came into our yard. He was very protective of them. I think they were a couple and he was their hero. They weren't related at all, as far as I could tell; but they were always together.

The Dad is the cat in my profile pic, I have posted a better pic somewhere on this thread lol. The Mum is more chocolatey than smoke but a litter mate was black smoke and still is at over a year old, so I don't know if that means she carries it. The tabby stripes on some are almost white and others a creamier colour. Cat genetics are somewhat confusing lol.

"Smoke" means a solid colored cat that has white at the base of each hair. It doesn't mean "smoky" grayish or brownish colored coat. You can tell if a cat is a smoke by parting the hair -- you will see white at the hair base.

Here's an example of a black smoke cat with the hair parted in one area, showing the white base:

This is Bobby, who was quite smokey. The second pic is when I first discovered his family -- he's on the right. In the fourth pic, he's on the right, beside our angel Moti, who was silvertab&white.

We had a tux Tom called Roo years ago, he was such a kind gentleman, he cleaned everyone and one of the dogs. I had a very vibrant torture queen called Tabitha when I was growing up, she formed my love of cats. My hubby threatened to leave when I brought two abandoned tabby tortie kittens home (he was raised with racing pigeons and grew up hating cats) 15 years later he is still here and we have 7 cats he is so soft with them. A true convert. 😂

Yeah I know, I learnt that when Smokey smokiness slowly disappeared :) his was black to halfway down the hair though instead of just the tips his ruff was paler too. My black and white male has white roots to his black hairs but he doesn't look smokey at all like Perlas brother did. :)
