I'd forgotten all about Dave's Killer Bread till I saw this post earlier this morning. And since I was going to the store that sells it, I splurged and bought a loaf. Looking forward to trying it. Just have to decide whether to make a sandwich, or eat it plain with just some butter. Any suggestions, Dave's Killer Bread fans? Keep in mind, I'm vegetarian.
I don't eat many sandwiches but I bet a toasted sandwich with cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayo would be good. I use to just toast my bread and add butter. So good. I used the red or green package.

I didn't go down for dinner tonight. Too much drama. I'll just make a naan pizza in my room.

Prepared some basmati rice using Herb-Ox chicken broth rather than water. Sauteed sliced onion and mushrooms. Diced remaining cooked boneless pork loin, added to mushrooms/onion together with jellied broth. Microwave steamed skinny asparagus.

Rice, mushrooms/onion/pork, good juices. Asparagus on the side. Not exciting but pleasant.

Last night I cooked up some rotini pasta with some bottled pasta sauce. Quick, easy, and pretty tasty.

That sounds like it would be yummy, muffy muffy . I plan to try the bread today, so may go with your sandwich idea. :yummy:

~ Vegetable casserole with tempeh as mentioned above. I made it again tonight and tossed in some mixed nuts and split yellow peas. Had a little mixed leaf salad, HISBISCUS tea and later a little dried fruit.

That looks delicious! I've always wanted to try tempeh, but still never have. Someday...

I second that nomination. Also a good, old fashioned tomato sandwich would be good or an FLT. Facon, lettuce and tomato.

ETA Dave's Killer Bread is really good. Enjoy! :yummy:

That looks amazing and right up my alley. Are you vegetarian?

I'm trying a new dish from Trader Joe's for dinner tonight - riced cauliflower bowl with tahini, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, baked tofu and roasted onions. Riced Cauliflower Bowl

Think I'm going to have a Naan pizza tonight, with a Gala apple for dessert.

For lunch I tried my Dave's Killer Bread. And though I had it hyped up in my mind, and thought it couldn't possibly live up to my expectations, I think it did, as I really enjoyed it.

No sandwich this time. Just went with bread and butter (actually Becel) and some cheese. It was the 21 Whole Grains and Seeds one, and was possibly a tad like eating bird seed.. But I really liked the flavour, and look forward to having it next time in sandwich form.

Question ... does it freeze well? Since it's just me, not sure if I want to eat it day after day after day till it's gone.

rubysmama rubysmama rubysmama rubysmama - I'm thinking aside from sandwiches, I might soft boil some eggs and try toasting and fake buttering my bread to dip in them.
When I was a kid, I used to dip bread in a soft boiled egg that Mom would put in cute little egg cups, however, these days the idea of it no longer appeals to me. But I can see how the bread would be perfect for dipping.

I second that nomination. Also a good, old fashioned tomato sandwich would be good or an FLT. Facon, lettuce and tomato.

I've never had, or even looked for Facon. so probably will skip it. But think I will try the lettuce and tomato, and maybe cheese. version next.

Morningstar Farms makes a facon (fake bacon). I've never tried it but I'm pretty sure I tried this one and it was pretty good. Smart Bacon® | Lightlife

I'm glad you enjoyed the bread. The one with 21 seeds and grains is a little like eating bird seeds. LOL.

I used to freeze my bread and it tasted alright.

Tonight they had nothing on the menu I could eat except for potato chips. I started to just leave but decided to get a side salad and cottage cheese. I swear they have to add meat or animal fat to everything they make.

Salmon fillet - just over a pound - given a 30 minute marinade in maple syrup and soy sauce before baking at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes. Recipe called for 1/2 cup maple syrup - I cut that back to 1/3 cup, and 2 Tablespoons of soy sauce. Gave just a touch of sweetness.

Sides were rice left over from last night and microwave steamed broccoli. Pleasant dinner.

Here's a pic of the riced cauliflower bowl I had for dinner. It was tasty but on the spicy side because it had red chili paste in it so I cut up some avocado to tone down the heat. Coffee chocolate chip Yasso bar for dessert. DH is hooked on Yasso bars.
