I figure, why not?? Worst case scenario, he's not interested or has a girlfriend/boyfriend. Best case scenario, he's a nice person and calls me and we go out for coffee or something. But if I don't do it, I'll miss 100% of the chance of anything happening so I'm definitely going to do it.
Did you give HIM, ha!!, the card?💖

Well, my request for a raise was approved so that's good. I'd probably be happy about it if I wasn't currently in the middle of a depressive episode. But somewhere deep down I'm fist-pumping lol

Finny stole what was left of my steak right off my plate and ran away with it after I left the room. He didn't eat it, because it was too tough for him (I have to cut up their soft raw pate into bite-sized pieces. I'd be impressed if he could rip a chunk off a steak lol). Little stinker.

I absolutely hated, hated my old toilet so I sure understand your excitement. You think a toilet is a toilet but they are not all the same and really old ones are just gross. A fresh and new, good flushing toilet is a blessing. Congrats.
And when you need one and DON'T have one, it's a really, really bad emergency!

Don’t I know. In my old house I only had one bathroom and it was in desperate need of a remodel. So the plan was to take the toilet out while we worked during the day and bring it back at night and get through the four or five day reno that way. Except that I dropped and cracked the toilet on day two. So it was a bucket in the basement til the new toilet went in.

Heated seat sounds good but i wouldn't be able to wait lol.

The new furnace is in and the stink from it breaking in is not too bad. They told me it would smoke when first running it. The factory puts a thin coat of oil on it to keep it from rusting. it was warm enough for Bee to poke around out back. Daddy snowblowed her a path to eat grass.

Then the guys went on the roof and installed the sleeve extension because every storm of 10 or more inches I had to go up and clear it. Now it can snow all it wants.

The security of a new furnace is also a wonderful thing. Expensive, but wonderful.

foxxycat foxxycat and susanm9006 susanm9006 All of us who live, or ever have lived, in snow country sure understand that! And as for that toilet, susanm9006 susanm9006 this is what I was dreading yesterday and before with my ca. 1931 toilet! The other one is fine, but my roomie-to-be wants to tear her fancy Japanese toilet out and put it in here, where the good one is. I had to say no because I envisioned something like that happening, and because the master bath has vintage ceramic tile which cannot be bought or replaced if anything happens in the process. Her toilet has heated seat, bidet, and all the bells and whistles (if you aren't familiar with top-of-the-line Asian toilets, you may like to see:
You Probably Need This Incredible Japanese Wonder Toilet *Apologizing in advance for any offense!*

I had no choice...the heat exchanger is cracked and the heat shield has burned too much that it would be a hazard in a month if I didn't take care of it. The price was a bit high I thought and it didn't look too complicated to install, (I've rebuilt carburetors in my younger years) but it was nice to sit back and work on my puzzle while they deal with the hassle. And of course the roof extension was something we'd been wanting to do...the prior company quote me 800 bucks for a simple galvanized steel sleeve that sits on the chimney and then screw the cap onto the top of the sleeves..they must have figure that I'd be too stupid to know the difference between steel and gold lol. I told the guy for 800 bucks, that sucker better have diamonds in it.

The funny thing is Lilah hung out with us here in the living room. She did run off when one of the men walked in but she came right back out. The sawsall didn't even scare her. She was like oh ok and just layed down on the couch.

I had Bee in her bedroom and she stayed in her cat house. I checked in on her a few times...she was just sleeping...glad it's done with.

Yes susanm9006 susanm9006 tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 improvement in the house is always a good thing and yes sometimes it's best not to mess with things so it won't break..the old motto...if it's not broken, leave it alone.

I always wished my dad would teach me about methanics. He used to fix his own cars (before everything was computerized) and plumbing and you-name-it.
Good on ya for calling that guy's bluff. I actually asked plumbers I had if their astronomical prices were contingent upon my gender and the guy just about swallowed his wrench before stammering, "N-no!" Guess he forgot how to pronounce "yes." :fuming:
And yeah, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)
