@Mamanyt1953 Wow! That's great about your licenses! We had the same problem with rentals and avgas being $$$ as time went along (and other expenses sort of got prioritized).
The tripods are adorable! Hopefully Macaroni won't need to become one, but if he does, he is a very cute boy!
It got Autumnal here overnight, literally! It's going back up into the 80sF for a bit, but hopefully not for long. LOVE these cooler days, clouds, and cool nights! I changed the comforter and pillow shams over to the cool weather ones today, so it looks more seasonal in there. They already garnered some serious interest! *Felis cattus domesticus*

*Looks domestic. Isn't. Don't believe it for a moment. This is a small blue LION with cream trim.*

@Mamanyt1953 Very cool! Great memories. :)

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 The bed looks great. I see why the kitties want to be there! Beware “the Lion sleeps tonight! “
Glitches back. Logging out but will return!
Oh noes!!! Hope that is temporary! :sigh:
Yes, he is a sleepy lion and I love when he stays glued to my side all through the night until morning! He's big, soft, warm, and very loving :cloud9:

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! :p

We are still in drought here. The plants are suffering and I discovered a little Skink nearly gone. It’s a happy ending though! I have been patrolling the area for any wild creatures needing water and placing dishes of all depths and sizes for turtles, birds or any creature. That resulted in my finding this lizard in distress. All is well now though. I expect we have gained a new friend for Banjo and Froggie!

Our smiles for today will be in a desperate post in case anyone wants to skip the little lizard.
If you don’t like lizards... stop right here!!
Spoiler alert but the pictures are cute!

Normally this Skink would have run from me. They are very fast. His little body was limp and front legs positioned by his side.

I brought him a shallow bottle top of water.

I was relieved to see him drink. Still concerned though. He allowed me to be in very close proximity.

He continued drinking for quite a while! I sprinkled cool water on his back too. Such a cute little guy when drinking!

When he finally regained hydration, he stayed there and just looked at me. I’ve never seen a Skink do this before.

He did skitter away but when I brought him a little cat food, he returned to eat.

I was so happy to see him regain his strength and when he had eaten he retreated to his normal habitat. I guess it was give a Skink a drink day! :yess:

I’m glad I found him before anything else did. Maybe he will come to visit the kitties at the windows!

Today has to be a Banjo and Whistle day. Their confidence has grown so much since their time in Florida. Whistle can still get nervous about certain things but when the house is settled and Mom is busy, they are content here with each other. :kitty:

Here is what I was thinking and what I think the kitties were thinking.

Awww! Such good siblings taking care of each other while Mom was busy!

A relaxed day with Banjo washing Whistle with kisses.

The shared affection is always heart warming.

Whistle always returns the kisses.

Now Banjo is enjoying it too.

My sweet kitties!

It wasn’t the Whistle!

Why’d you leave Whistle?

We were having fun!

Wheee! Confetti!

Heh heh! Look Whistle! Paper hat! Come back. Mom will never know.

Uh oh. Mom is here, isn’t she?

:flail:Whistle left Banjo to take the blame! Smart boy! He gave me such an innocent look before darting off. Fortunately they made Mom laugh! Banjo tossing the shredded paper towel and having it land on her head was so funny! She just looked like she was laughing and having so much fun, I couldn’t blame them for enjoying the play. I can replace the paper towels but I can never find another Banjo and Whistle! :redheartpump::redheartpump:

I hope you all smiled as much as I did.
Have a great night and enjoy your kitties, even when they are being, “ creative!”

You'll probably be surprised to learn that I don't have a fear of lizards, so I loved all the pics of your little Skink. He's so lucky he was passing through Chez Catbird Estate where all creatures furry and scaly, and everything in between, are cared for with love and kindness. :redheartpump:

I did. :catman: Also realized video would have been purr-fect for the Banjo confetti. Maybe you should start a YouTube channel. :)

Can we officially designate October 1st as Give A Skink A Drink Day? *I don't trust people who don't like lizards. Just sayin'.* Thank you for giving him some water and food and caring!
I see you have some PURRformance artists there! Our beloved Rani Queen was quite a famous TP artist. She never met a roll she didn't like...to carve. :climbcat:

I’m so glad the skink was a hit. I just loved that he recovered!

I thought he was so adorable and I think he was smiling too! They normally eat bugs but I find that if something like that is hungry, turtles too, they’ll eat a bit. It also brought a couple of bugs. He ate and drank for some time and really watched me before leaving. All creatures, great and small , seem to understand when you are trying to help in situations like that. I didn’t eat him right away so I guess he understood he was safe.
I think that making it “Give a Skink a Drink Day” is hilarious and a very good idea! For those in the drought areas, small jar lids, flat dishes a bucket on its’ side or any similar container will be very helpful to the tiny creatures. I am keepin these filled daily since the water evaporated quickly. The birds are enjoying a little bit of time with my sprinkler too. I can’t run it very long but they know the routine and as soon as they hear the running water hitting the drive, the arrive. Time for a bath birdies! I have places for them to drink too but they love cooling off. Who knows how many creatures come here to drink. Lol The butterflies like wet sand so I soak that too.
Little skink tongue! :p I saw the water drop too! Good stuff!

Thank you for your vote of confidence. I wish the 2020 big deal was so easy (and so pleasant)!

I need that Ostrich in my life. I'd take it on the bus and talk to it just to mess with people.
