You do know that there is evidence that a cat's purr will speed healing, especially in broken bones? It has to do with the vibrational rate of the purr. It sets up an ultrasonic thingy that speeds the healing process. Your cats know what you need! Let them have at it!
I have heard that. I do find them a great comfort. Who can resist purrs and love? Purr blankets please!

Our girl is still not well. I’m glad I was worried enough to take her on in instead of waiting for a poop. It’s always best to have a vet check if you are ever worried about a kitty. My only real indication was that she was a wee bit late with a poop and her ears felt warm to me. Still.... I got concerned. She has a fever again and is back on meds. She got some sub q fluids to make sure she is well hydrated. She has forgiven me and is feeling some better again so I am relieved. I’ll be keeping a close watch on her.

I’m taking full advantage of the purrs! Banjo is in my lap and is going to finish this post for me. Thank you Banjo!!:kitty:

This is Banjo!

I gave her the latest update on Mom status.

She did a good job of petting Mom....

Poor kitty. Wanda Heart certainly has more than enough grief in her young life, hasn't she? It still burns me that someone would just dump her like a piece of trash. When I see those pictures of her, I start to think evil thoughts. By the way, did you ever find any sign that there might have been more than just Wanda Heart dumped?

And I'll worry about you while you worry about Wanda Heart. Managing with that carrier couldn't have been easy with your current rib situation! Crumbly or not, you're a tough cookie! Thank your keeping us updated on Wanda Heart - I hope each day finds her a little stronger than the last! Thank goodness for your gut instinct, hey? Rest up, both of you!

Agreed. Poor little one never deserved or asked for this path. I am anxious for her to be well and join the other kitties. I can’t even begin a search for am adopting family unless she is well. Around here her best chance for adoption is while she is still a kitten. Another sad note. No matter what though, she’ll be loved here. She is already part of my family. It’s always hard for me to let them go but I want to give her the best world she can possibly have.
I have not found any other family members but that doesn’t mean that none exist. I have two people in this area who leave food outside for their pets but never worry about Spay and Neuter any animal that shows up. :(
One of them has been reported to Anomal control by someone else but nothing will ever be done. I try offering information and education to them. They did , finally, get their cats fixed.
I spoke to Velcro’s family. They have moved but did report seeing some kittens in the woods before they left. They said they tried to catch them but couldn't. The age would have been wrong for Wanda Hearts litter. I suspect they came from a place further away from me and that they have a human. I have never spotted them. I got an updated photo of Velcro! She looks very happy and healthy. Her new home has a screened porch and a view of lots of birds and nice trees. They are living in another town near me and doing very well. Yay for Velcro!

Poor Wanda Heart. :( I hope this round of meds cures all that's ailing her. :crossfingers:

Also hope your trip to the vet didn't aggravate your achy ribs too much. :alright:

Here's a pic for both the youngest little feline and her human guardian:

Awwwww! That little kitty is so adorable!
Wanda Heart is requiring lots of snuggles but that’s okay with me. I hope she will be okay soon.
The vet visit was a bit hard. Lol I had to hold WH while she got fluids and afterwards to keep the fluids from oozing back out. She got chilled so it meant wrapping her up and holding her inside her carrier to keep her warm and less scared. I had to keep one arm extended and into the carrier for awhile but it really helped her to get through the experience better. Luckily for me, I have a heating pad! My heating pad and I are very close friends.

N NY cat man It was very good news about Velcro. Her human has become a more mature young person and is now acting very responsibly towards Velcro. Our conversation and texts left me feeling very good about her life. Her human is going to stop by for a visit soon. I have some treats for Velcro.:p

You never cease to amaze me with how you can bring people around to the path of righteousness. Was it me, now, I would probably employ the technique used for training mules- clout them over the head with a 2-by-4 first to get their attention- but then, that's just me..

For anyone reading and wondering who Velcro is..... she showed up under a mobile home here and stayed for some weeks. Eventually I decided that since she was not safe, I needed to bring her in and try to find her family. She was wearing a flea collar but was not microchipped. I called all the local vets and authorities but no one knew who she was. I put up signs everywhere, including the local Post Office. I called the county shelter and was allowed to foster her while I searched and could have formally adopted her.
13564CD8-D304-40D6-9EFB-1CD94F9EFA0C.jpeg

She was really hungry when I found her.
BFE56D6C-8613-4B54-A26D-30E42C8473E6.jpeg

We had a lot of long conversations at first.
FE605149-D34F-4425-A041-A1A4CDBC975D.jpeg

She decided I was a friendly human....
04B187AB-EE1E-459B-BD24-938C98A4426F.jpeg

So I brought her in and took her for a vet check.
3E4C8447-869B-4C8B-BB26-8D326DC5B47E.jpeg

Her human saw one of my signs and had been searching for Velcro. Her human explained that she had been scared away from home by having a puppy join the family. After I confirmed everything and felt she would be safe, I allowed her human in to see how she would react. She was very happy to have her human come to find her. The look she gave him ,along with head butts , convinced me to turn her back over to her family. She did visit one other time but after that she learned to accept the puppy and stayed home. I have checked on her regularly ever since. She is doing very well.

:flail: I often have that craving. I just find that it tends to make them more numb brained. Leading them with a nice tasty carrot can work wonders. I have a treat for youuuuu!!!!!:insertevillaugh::wink:

Wow! It’s really nice that you are worried about me. I appreciate it when people here care about me. Old cookies may be tough but they have soft hearts that are warmed by compassion. As long as the kitties are okay, I’m very content. It may be a real pain to do some things but the rewards are huge. These sweet little faces make me smile every day.
Touching on that ,” gut feeling” thing, I always encourage everyone to listen to that feeling. Even if it turns out to be nothing, we feel better if we check it out. Sometimes I miss the mark but it’s a relief to know that. :bliss:

Miss WH is in my lap as I type and purring.:caticon: Her appetite is off but I’m heading to the kitchen to bring out my kitty treats. She did :poop:!

Buffster7 Buffster7 Velcro claimed a lot of hearts here. She showed up the first time on top of my van in the late night. She accepted food but afterwards showed fear at something in the woods and ran off. I got one photo of her as she ran to hide. Over the next weeks I saw her hiding nearby and always frightened. Then she vanished for awhile. When she showed up again it was obvious she needed help. I think she got a little lost. Of all the kitties I have found, only twice have I been able to find where they came from. Velcro was a very happy ending. I hated to see her go but was grateful to see her loving her human.

It was a dark and stormy day here today. The rain came down and the thunder rolled. The kitties all reacted. Lol
Smokey came back into the living room after consistently staying in the refurbished cat room. She didn’t like the thunder do I put one of the beach rugs down for her. She loves those things!

Whistle retreated to Moms’ lap where he alternated making biscuits. First the right paw....

Then the left paw...

I guess the thunder was too distracting to offer both paws at once! Poor little Whistle. He has always been the most wary out of that litter of kittens.
The storm seems to have passed so I went out before dark to check on Froggie for Banjo. I still think that something strange happened when Banjo and Whistle kissed those frogs. Froggie leaves the strangest footprints!
