An earthquake would be even scarier, since I live close enough to the New Madrid fault to be in a high damage zone. There is a 10% chance of a major quake in the next 25 years.
Thankfully, I don't live in the damage zone, but we do know when New Madrid throws a hissy fit.

I have a large, enclosed "playpen" for the girls for just that purpose. It's big enough for a litter box, 2 small beds with blankets and a water dish.
OH MAN! I need one of those. Where did you get it? It would make evacuating so much simpler!

I'm double-dipping here, but I don't want this lost in another post.

Recently posted to my Facebook group, Joey's Legacy...

"DOES ANYONE have a friend or family member that is taking classes in journalism or is interested in putting together an audio/visual project for me?

If any interest, please private message me.

Thank you."

This was posted by the owner of the group, which is dedicated to holding vets accountable for malpractice and neglect. The project concerns that, and probably other areas of animal abuse (I think). However, if any of you are interested, contact me, and I'll get you in touch with Scott, the group's owner.

Is yours like mine and is the collapsible kind with the mesh windows? I got one of those for the girls when they were infants. Samai learned how to escape when she was 3 weeks old. But it would sure come in handy for an older cat in a situation like that.

Life sucks right now. I broke my toe and my front tooth after having about 2 decades worth of dental surgeries and I still can't keep a tooth! I also have an abcess and a failing crown.

And my husband has some mystery ailment where he is in chronic pain and itchy and no one we've seen can give an answer as to why or what to do.

The only thing keeping me sane is having these foster cats and my own cats. I'm not even hungry- if I go all day- like haven't eaten in 18-24 hours without eating then I will feel hungry and eat a little. It's the stress and the mouth pain:(

Has anyone here used Natures Miracle deep cleaning shampoo for carpets? I need to steam clean a couple of rooms where old man incontinent Beagle decided he couldn't wait. I have to get a product at Walmart since it can't be delivered to me.
Just wondering if I would be wasting my money, or if it really cleans the stains like the ad says.

Sorry to hear about your mouth. A toothache is the worst pain you can have. That and a burn. But for your husband...
I used to get gross oozing blisters all over my hands and wrists and the doctors couldn't figure it out. It was very painful. I did a lot of elimination test with soaps to try to figure it out. Then realized that the lotion I was using had a steroid in it. It was way at the bottom of ingredients and I wouldn't have realized this if I hadn't looked up every single ingredient on the internet. (I'm very allergic to any form of steroid).
Could your husband have an allergy to the soap/shampoo/laundry soap you use?
I would try changing brands of each to test the theory. One at a time so you know which one (if any) it is.

kashmir64 kashmir64 I haven't used that specific product, but trust Nature's Miracle implicitly and would definitely try it. Also, for that kind of "accidents" I use a Bissell SpotBot "Pet" robotic shampooer, and the cleaners that are recommended for use with it. You can use it robotically or manually. DEFINITELY worth the investment.

marmoset marmoset Do you like/trust your dentist? I got a great one from 1.800.DENTIST when I moved here not knowing one from another. I've gone to him ever since and he has saved me a lot of money and a lot of pain and suffering.
*PRAYERS* and best thoughts for you and your husband. I hope you are able to eat regularly; after oral surgery I was on a liquid diet for some time, which was basically food I normally ate, blended in a blender. Just suggesting.
Hope you get plenty of C.A.T. (Cat-Assisted Therapy) -- those purrs are wonderfully soothing and healing.

I really feel for you. I've had dental pain for 20 years, but no dental insurance and can't afford $2,000 per tooth.
Do you have access to any dental colleges/universities where dental students train? IDK about your location but it used to be that students looked for patients and it was one way for people to obtain care at low/no cost.

I am so sorry about your dental problem. Are you seeing a dentist for the abscess? Itching is the worst and pain a long with it. I hope they can find a solution soon for your husband.:alright:

M maggiedemi , I know that NY is a super big state (I'm in the Niagara region myself). Is there anything in a nearby city? Syracuse, Rochester, Potsdam, maybe even Albany? Here a lot of people go to one of the dental schools in Buffalo proper.

Are there some individual health insurance plans you could get? I don't have employer health insurance and had to go that route. I'd be willing to help you out with finding something if necessary.

I got it from Amazon. This is it. We have the red one.
BOOKMARKED!

That's the same one I have (also have red, they didn't have blue). Mine has a velco roof. Didn't read if this one does. Only I got mine at CAL Ranch for $20. I love how convenient it is.
I just went to CAL Ranch, and couldn't find it...Probably not looking in the right place. Any hints?
