I agree with all of yours. Especially the religion section.

Women might be expected to wear makeup because of our culture, but we don't need to. Our natural face looks better than phoney looking makeup.
I love this and I so so so agree! I don't wear makeup unless it's for an event that I consider to be about costumes ie. weddings, stage performance etc. I save hundreds of dollars and an incredible amount of time not doing makeup, buying makeup etc. My family benefits because it's a more frugal way of life and I can wake up and be out of the house in less than half an hour.

I like makeup in a way. I used to do some art-house dance where wild makeup was essential but it was always costuming. Fashion photography and video is interesting and I'm willing to go that route for something in that ilk but every day- no thank you.

I have girlfriends who apologize sincerely if their "face isn't on"- that is their words but I always just think they look amazing and am truly struck dumb when they say that. I mean they are truly reticent about it and it doesn't matter to me at all. I never wear makeup. They've only seen me at events wearing makeup and still they feel they have to apologize because they are not up to their own personal norm. I never put that expectation on them so why apologize to me?

I don't like Beyonce or Adele's music. They both have incredible voices, but I just don't like their stuff.
Cats are better than dogs (but I think most of us here can agree with that).
I don't understand the appeal of sushi.
Coffee is disgusting.
If you are older than 25 and still need alcohol to have fun, you need to grow up.
Dunno who Beyonce or Adele are, but the rest yeah. Especially coffee and sushi.

I like to wear makeup too but I don't have any negative thoughts about women who don't, I also keep highlights and lowlights in my hair. Styling is just some product and a blowdry with a round brush. Again I don't have negative thoughts about women who don't.

The no makeup look and the no styling of the hair that is popular right now makes women look older and tired. I think it is laziness.

I much prefer cats to dogs (unpopular around here)

And the biggest of all....I like Trump! (After the wishywashy last president who apologized for the USA to countries that we were sending money to, he is refreshing)

I don't think it is laziness, I believe it is just personal preference. My mother had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and we had Hospice come on the weekdays because I was living in Columbus, 100 miles away and my sister was working. They applied her make-up and did her hair daily. As ill as she was, it was important to her and my sister and I would do it on the weekend.

It was important to her because she felt and looked better having it done. If you don't take pride in your appearance and let yourself go, it makes a big difference in your attitude towards life. I don't mean full face makeup and lots of it, i just wear a little eye makeup and lipstick at times, when i don't have the usual amount of eye makeup people ALWAYS ask if i am sick, and why on earth would anyone want to go into public looking washed out and sick!

Personally I think it's got more to do with the fact that excessive makeup has been the norm since it was popularized by hollywood. It's like eating food with too much seasoning for a long time, if you eat normal food afterward it tastes bland even though there's nothing wrong with it.

Without makeup women don't look older or sick, they look like their natural selves. People around you are just used to seeing you wearing makeup and notice that you aren't.

If we used to get perms and no longer have that style we don't look bad, we just look different. The same with makeup. We think it makes us look prettier, younger etc. only because that's the way we are used to seeing ourselves and others.

Thanks I thought maybe I was being too real lol.

di and bob di and bob Wow! You're definitely allowed to have that opinion though. But it is our natural selves. I actually make it a point to go on a first date bare faced. If they don't like my natural face then obviously they shouldn't be with this face. I certainly wouldn't date a guy if I didn't feel like his face was attractive. A lot of women who do wear make up comment and say positive things about my skin. I feel make up ruins your skin some. I wear it once in a while when I feel like it. I still like having an option.

Yep, that's what I mean by expectations. I don't wear makeup, and I don't care what others think because I'm not an object that exists for their viewing pleasure, but there are definitely expectations and judgements, especially in a business setting.

Sure the hair should be groomed and not messy in a business setting. But make up too? I’m just a lowly underling but even if I got promoted to management positions I don’t think I would start wearing makeup.
