I was just watching Soap. I heard she had died. It seems so many are dying lately.
You'll find that this happens to you more and more as you age. It really started hitting me when Robin Williams killed himself.

In this case, I wonder whether death didn't come as a friend to her, considering that the cause of death was complications of Alzheimer's. She was already losing herself, slowly. :sniffle: This is one of the worst ways I can think of to go. And now we've lost both Katherine Helmond and Sir Terry to it, both people who spent their lives bringing laughter to our lives. As was Robin Williams, come to think of it. All three of them are sorely missed by a great many people, here and elsewhere.

Has anyone here ever heard of a delivery company named "Bluecare Express"? I had ordered a book light from eBay, and on February 15th I received a notice that it had been delivered. The tracking information says that Bluecare Express delivered it "into the hands of a resident" that day, but I was home all day and the doorbell never rang. I emailed their customer service about this and have received no response at all, and the eBay vendor just keeps posting the tracking link. I've never even heard of this shipping company before and I'm beginning to wonder whether they even exist, except to take shipments from gullible vendors and never deliver them to the addressee.

What's on my mind ...
I'm trying to decide if I should just adopt my foster kittens.
Foster Kitten Adventure (1 Sweet + 1 Feral)
Cribbage has come a loooong way from the little feral gal that tried to bite my hands off a couple months ago.
View attachment 276157

But omg ..
5 cats would be a lot.
But...
But...
If you can give them proper medical care, attention, love and housing...... 5 just sounds like a lot. I do rescues and at one time had far more than that without a problem.

That is a totally gorgeous kitty!

What’s on my mind? Tornados striking all over the south. Alabama hit hard with losses. Georgia and Florida being hit and South Carolina in the path too. Sending out hopes wishes, vibes prayers and anything possible to help those in distress.

So, I'm trying another one of those direct sales things. Pampered Chef. I've never been good at them, but the girl I signed up under made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It's a $39 sign up special with a kit of stuff I want - more than $39 worth - and she's paying it and I only pay her back if I make $39. Totally a no lose situation. If I make money, great. If I don't, I'm not out anything and I got awesome stuff.

Ebay has insurance. You can submit a complaint.
I know. I've already done so. The idiot poor, innocent vendor just keeps posting the lying inaccurate tracking link, as if it means that s/he bears no responsibility. As of March 7, when if the vendor hasn't come through, eBay steps in.

My question was really about the delivery company, Careblue Express. I made a report to their customer service department over a week ago and still haven't heard back, and I've never heard of them before; I'm beginning to conclude that they're some kind of scammers who are preying on gullible vendors, and this particular vendor appears to be remarkably gullible. Once my loss has been repaired, whether with the delivery of the book light I ordered or with a refund, I would be totally delighted to help the vendor take the delivery company down.

Be very careful with this; just from your brief description it sounds to me like a pyramid scheme. I recommend proceeding (assuming your decision to do so has already been implemented) with extreme paranoia.

Pyramid schemes are a semi-legal form of fraud, that also bear a strong resemblance to religious cults. They build you up with stories of how much money you can make by moving higher up the pyramid, but eventually the pyramid collapses under its own weight, because it's totally dependent on more people signing on under you, and the number of available (and willing) people is finite. And they keep telling you how easy it is; you just have to believe in the product and in your own abilities. So if you don't succeed it's because your faith was lacking - this is the religious cult connection.

Pampered Chef has been around forever. I like the products. I did something similar with Perfectly Posh. Got the kit with a bunch of products that I adore at a massive discount and never expected to make money. I just wanted the stuff.

I went to a couple Pampered Chef parties, many many years ago. I really like their products. I still use them. They used to have good quality products.

I have not heard of anyone having these type of 'parties' anymore.. at least around here..

I think many people just buy their cooking things at Target, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, or anywhere else they can get them.. Quality and longevity does not seem to matter, anymore.. plus people are not cooking as much as they used to...

I wish you luck..

Oh, they still have the parties here. Of course, half the ladies in town sell one product, and the other half sell another product, and they just exchange money back and forth so nobody actually makes anything ;).

But, yeah, if you can avoid getting sucked in and "investing", having a party at your house is a pretty good deal. You get the party package and have a few friends over, works out OK. You just have to be strong enough (or broke enough) to keep from buying in.

Haha, that's funny.
I do like their products and I have several things. The "kit" I'm getting has several things that I want. I don't plan on putting any more money into it - I didn't when I did the same thing with Perfectly Posh. I was perfectly happy with the things I got and that was that. It'll be the same with this. I'm not expecting to make any money, but it will be a pleasant surprise if I do. I won't go nuts putting all my time into it, either. They have good quality stuff and they have a great warranty policy. So I'll be content however it turns out.
