Last night it was so cold I had to have soup!We had New England clam chowder and I had toast with pecan apple butter, and hubby had a meatloaf sammie on rye.Tonight we had pancakes and sausage patties.I'm thinking since I have a couple of patties left that tomorrow night I'll make sausage gravy and biscuits.Comfort food galore!

Everyone knows that Baby Girl is Daddy's spoiled kid, and that's a good damn thing because we had a small roast in a bag thawing in the (dry) sink, and she and her pack of gangsters managed to get the thing onto the floor so they could fill it with holes, gaps, missing chunks and teeth marks. We now have a nice Swiss Cheese roast.
When I caught them red handed, everyone bolted...except for her. Gave me the Daddy's Little Girl Angel Eyes with a friendly little "hello" meow.
The others were decent enough to take the blame but she said she was "just chewing on it for a friend."

:argh::argh::argh::argh:
So the roast will be hacked into pet food.
We're thawing bacon, protectively, and will have bacon, eggs, and hash. Not a roast but still pretty tasty.
Now I'm starting to wonder how long it will take for the cats to respond positively to things like "dammit all" or "what did you do NOW" or "does anyone want to tell me why there's a dead mouse in the dogs water dish". They're becoming regular phrases with these cats and their antics :sigh:
2 seconds after I type this out one of the girls (innocent party) starts warbling like a lonely kitten and drops a spit covered catnip mouse at my feet. Thanks, girl I feel better:flail::flail::flail:

We had (store-bought) ravioli for dinner last night.

Probably some sloppy Joes tonight. I took ground beef out of the freezer last night and stuck it in the fridge to thaw.
Reading that, I realized I just been bit by the sloppy joe bug again.
Doc says there's only one cure, and that's 18 CC's of manwich! :yummy:

I made Nacho's! I break taco shells in half,
(Less sodium than chips!) I bake them on my stone like you normally would, then when done, I use a butter knife to smear some refried black beans on each one, & top w/ mex cheese mix. Tonight, I also added some left over shredded smoked chicken on top. Put it in the microwave to melt the cheese, ( about 1 min), then top with diced avacados, salsa, light sour cream, & lettuce.
.... and since its Friday night, I had a gin & tonic, extra lime!! :D

1 bruce 1 1 bruce 1 :flail:Your kids are hilarious! I learned a long time to thaw everything in the microwave. Bootser ate butter, Ms. Pepe ate a loaf of bread, Peanut Butter ate the tails off two really nice T-bone steaks that I had on the counter. BooBoo ate the peanut butter cups out of my peanut butter cup cupcakes, Banshee ate tuna that I had draining in the sink. The microwave it is, for everything I do in the kitchen. It's safer (for my sanity).

Since we did the bathroom over and have a larger counter, after I bake a cake and need to cool it, I put the cake in the bathroom on the counter to cool. And shut the door. I even tried bringing two layers of cake back to the computer room to cool one time, thinking that Banshee wouldn't attempt to eat them if I was back here. Wrong! I got interested in something on the computer, heard a noise, looked over, and there was the Queen B scarfing white cake. And the brat ate from both layers, too. I said, "Banshee, what the hell!" She looked over with her crumbs-covered whiskers and said, "What? What's wrong?" I don't have cats, I have brats. They're really lucky they're so cute.

So....I have some marinara sauce in the fridge. I also have some bulk sausage in the fridge. I just fed my sourdough starter and have the discards in the fridge. I'm thinking pizza. Again. I'll have to hit the store for some 'shrooms. But a sausage and mushroom pizza sounds good tonight and it's one of Rick's favorite pizzas.

Are you sure she isn't related to Hekitty?

Tonight...um. Well. Um. NOT hot dogs with cheese and onions. I'm thinking about tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich. It's cold, and that sounds GOOD! Tomorrow I'm going to make Crazy Good Chili. I even remembered to buy the Hershey bar!

wait wait, hang on now--- a Hershey bar in chili??!?
Sounds a little like Mexican chile mole sauce, chili spiced with chile's, pepper, cumin, cinnamon and chocolate.

I probably wouldn't think of milk chocolate, but unsweetened chocolate or a spoonful cocoa powder is great in chili! :yummy:
