Hi foxxycat foxxycat :welcomeback1: Nice to have you back again. That slim cycle looks good, I haven't been out on my bike for months either. Glad to hear you're at least getting on a little better with the arches.

I went for a long walk today. My toe has healed up pretty well, but the toe nail is still a gory mess. It only hurts when I'm going down hill on rough trails. I think my toe must slide forward in my boots and then rub against the front. It's not so bad when I'm walking, but I sometimes notice blood when I get into my PJ's at the end of the day.

90 minutes walk and 40 minutes yoga today.

furmonster mom furmonster mom that treadmill dancer is very impressive!

I’m typing this while on the recumbent bike. I’m giving my knees and back a bit of a break today.

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
Last night after work I dragged out teh slim cycle and planted it right in front of the tv. Honeybee was bug eyed at first then when it started up with not even a whisper she curled up for a nap on Jon. We were watching Ted 2=a very RUDE and funny movie..and I set it at low tension and just spun for an hour. I didn't get too sweaty-figured spinning was better than layin on me back like I normally do when I get home. I need to figure out a better seat-my butt was sore by 20 minutes so each 20 min segment I had to get up and walk around. I asked Jon to slice me up an apple because I was thirsty and gatorade wasn't hitting the spot anymore and that helped with my thirst.

I see the girl who makes insoles on Tuesday. she wanted me to get that silly ball in the middle of the foot but honestly that was such a pain I told her nope. not gonna happen. Rolling my foot on a tennis ball right now..that helps the most....

Keep going everyone!

I'm wondering if your belt was slipping. On my old treadmill, the belt used to slip. It eventually got so bad that I'd go down and start the treadmill and let it run for a couple minutes to warm it up before I got on the thing. We bought a treadmill maintenance kit and tried to grease the belt and the parts. It would work for a while, but then it would start slipping again. In fairness, I had that thing forever and a day and used it hard, so we can't complain. But that's when we bought a new treadmill.
Possibly. It didn't matter what we did to it; it never got better and it did it as long as we had the thing. I just account it to being a cheaply made one. Several years ago my Mom and Step-dad got rid of a very nice treadmill. If I had the room I might have taken it. It was pretty huge.

It was very cold and windy yesterday, so I stayed home and did 90 minutes yoga.

Today I did an hour of yoga in the morning and a 90 minute walk in the afternoon.

Keep going everyone.

I managed to get about 2 miles of walking in Tuesday morning, but then made up for it Tuesday night. Rick had a dentist appointment on Tuesday and it was snowing like crazy (we got about 4 inches). He didn't come and he didn't come and I was starting to worry. Turns out he needed a root canal in a tooth. But when I worry about something, I start walking around the house. And I ended up making up the steps that I didn't get in the morning, so it worked out.

Tuesday -
21,208 steps for the day = 11.05 miles
31 floors
174 active minutes

Ouch, poor Rick! But yeah, there's nothing like a bit of anxious pacing to get those extra steps in.

I did 90 minutes of yoga today. I worked on some more difficult poses like arm balances and inversions.

I'm hoping to go horse riding this week, if it doesn't snow.

I asked my trainer what might make a treadmill constantly stutter, and he said that there are two levels of treadmill based on the weight capacity. A lower weight capacity has a weaker motor that can't handle larger people. So this will cause the belt to stutter oddly. That's why the big gyms get the heavy duty ones, because even a big sexy beefcake needs to get his cardio in! lol

My kids have decided to start braving the cold in the garage when I use the Bowflex so they can count for me. I can't decide if it's helpful or not yet. I am getting faster at changing the settings to move between exercises. Today I kept a hat and the hood of my hoodie on and a pair of light gloves. It was fine that way. I can get that done in about half an hour right now.

I'm sticking with 30 minutes on the elliptical for a bit. I think maybe in a week or two I will start adding resistance and things starting on non-lifting days.

Back then I wasn't this heavy. (Oh to be that weight now! I'm on my way anyway.) DH did try running on it and it acted up for him too. All I wanted at the time was one to walk on; nothing fancy.

I purchased an elliptical some years back and had to have it serviced twice while under warranty. What the service person told me is that home equipment is sold with the expectation that it will be barely used and so isnt able to handle regular use without breaking down frequently.

Today, my trainer reiterated again why he considers treadmills the most dangerous machines... because they don't stop if you do...
Other machines, will slow down, stop with the person because they are moved by human energy. Treadmills have motors that keep going. The flip side of that coin is that in a power outage they will stop... very suddenly... and catch the person using them off guard... the person keeps going and gets slammed in the gut by the bars in front.
So... he is always harping on being ready to jump to the side rails when getting on and off the treadmill.

I know my trainer loves me when he gives me weird-ass exercises to do, lol... Today it was opposite toe touch crunches.... lying down, legs straight, raise one leg and touch the toe with the opposite hand while crunching up for the reach. This takes some co-ordination. :runaround:

I guess it's too cold for walks outside, right? Never mind, spring is coming.

I did 45 minutes yoga and a 90 minute walk today. I take a big plastic bag with me at least once a week when I walk and pick up any rubbish I see. I'm always amazed at the amount of cans and plastic bottle I pick up. Who comes for a drive in a National Park and throws rubbish out of their car windows?

In my case, my treadmill was really old and I had used it hard. I'm sure that being in the basement didn't help with temperatures. It got to the point where I was holding onto the rails for dear life and I finally told Rick we needed to get rid of it; it was dangerous. I was surprised because he didn't say anything; we went right down and got another one. It's still a Nordic Track, but it's larger than the old one with a larger motor. I really like it.

I keep telling myself that I need to get into exercise again. I was all set to start at the beginning of the year, then I got sick. I was going to start this past Monday and then ended up with the Headache from Hades that lasted two days. I always seem to start an exercise program TOMORROW. :paperbag:

This morning, I did no walking. Rick brought me into work so he could drive the Tucson. And he needed to go in early, so that meant enough time for getting ready for work and that was it. I've been walking in the building (I'm the only one here right now) and have about 1.5 miles in. But it's not going to be a good day for walking and definitely not for floors.

Wednesday -
20,189 steps for the day = 10.71 miles
32 floors
103 active minutes

Add yoga to that sentence, and you'd be talking about me. :sigh:

I shoveled yesterday, heavy wet slushy stuff, so I guess that was exercise.

It depends on how many layers you can put on I guess. DH had on 5 when he left for work this morning. :cold: At least it's sunny and not windy today! After he left for work I ended up getting back in bed using my thick fuzzy bathrobe as another blanket and wearing my wool socks. I woke up warm and cozy!

Today is elliptical only but I do need to do some removing of Christmas stuff from the top of my kitchen cabinets. That can be a little workout too; going up and down the big step-stool a bunch of times. :p

I’ve been a bit under the weather this week so haven’t done much. I’m almost back to myself so I’m doing a short stint on the exercise bike right now.

We had snow here today. Only about 10 cm, but it was nice to finally see some, after a very warm, dry winter.

We went horse riding.

Let me see if I can upload this video thingy.

90 minutes ride and then 45 minutes yoga after that, just to make sure everything was cracked back into place.

I don't even like snow, but that picture with Mount Fuji in the background, and the shots throughout the video are beautiful.

So the horses don't mind the cold and snow?
