It's snowing and cold, but here is something that just warm up your day.View attachment 270132Miss Eleanor, our local TNR cat, is inside! Every morning she comes to the back door, and as soon as I open it, she scoots inside. I open the inner door a bit, so she and our other cats can sniff each other. No hissing yet from either side.
What a beautiful cat.

We're going to have weather in the 50's this weekend :sunshine:
Lol, we're supposed to get snow this afternoon. Positive though is not too much of the fluffy stuff since the storm is headed for the south of us. They're predicting only 2" here and that's the perfect amount for me. Already have my ingredients out to bake because I love baking in winter.

I sat drinking my coffee this morning, watching the cats carry on at the birds out at the feeders,my male doxie Otter goes to his bed, drags a blankie halfway out, starts talking and rolling on the floor, chewing on the blanket as he does this, wagging that tail....and for 12 years old, feeling pretty spry.It all makes my day a great one!

The library I work at closed for renovation last Monday, so I've been at an offsite location for patrons to pick up their holds. I work there with one other person and I've actually been in a really good mood most of the week. I've always suspected working in the library caused a lot of problems for me because I'm autistic and have trouble with sensory processing (specifically with noise) and just the last week has been a good indicator of that. I'll have to see how the new library feels with (hopefully) better acoustical treatments and sound absorption before I decide if I want to find a new job.

Once again the weather person was wrong and we got more than 2" of snow but that's okay because I baked a delicious dessert and never ventured out. Carleton had DH and I home all day with him. He went from lap to lap. :zzzcat:

:hyper::yess:Great news Abby, great news!

Still no storm, at least here in my part of CALIFORNIA. I think the reason the weather makes MAX act silly is the leaves dancing in the wind and the rain drops coming but stopping at the windows! Maybe it delights him that he is NOT OUT IN IT

It rained on Saturday off and on but nothing today, more rain in the forecast for tomorrow. The air is as clean as it can get and you can see forever. There is a lot of snow on the Sierra which I can see from here although it is over 100 miles away. So glad for the snow pack getting a good addition. I bet there is good skiing at Mammoth and other spots.

Some people may not consider a rainy day to be beautiful but here in SoCal we are happy every time it does rain and we have had more in the last few weeks than we have had in a long time. Not that the drought is over, far from it and the aquifers are still depleted, the reservoirs are still at all-time lows and most of us are still conserving as much water as possible. There are drawbacks of course such as people driving too fast when the streets are wet and causing accidents, and the danger of mudslides if the rain comes down too fast, but overall, rain is a good thing here.

It was a very long day at work with some stressful moments. However, now that I am sitting on the sofa with Carleton resting beside me the pressure of the day has melted away. :catlove:

Abby was at the vet all day yesterday for tests and the results I've gotten back so far (echocardiogram and ultrasound) are all good. :)
Great news, Karen! Such a worry when our babies are unwell or we think there is something going on with them.

So very cold here in Ohio and I was chilled to the bone. I felt the only way to get warm was to have a very warm bath so I did. Ahhh......it felt so good and I am now cozy. Rugged up in leggings underneath sweats, warm socks and slippers, and a soft hoodie... heaven, and now for another cup of tea, maybe Raspberry Zinger this round.

Although we had a black ice situation this morning it is now over. I put in a Stouffer's chicken pot pie and I can smell it cooking, yum!

I look forward to Wednesdays because I have my Zumba class. The teacher is exhilarating and I always have a good work out dancing to the music.

...with the cats...
i went shopping yesterday at our local Aldi's, and noticed that prices on many of the items that had 'jumped' in the last 2 months or so, had dropped down to or even below what they had been (just prior to the significant price increase). :yess:

i did buy some extras that weren't on my shopping list, of the items that had dropped in price -- corn flakes, a 12 ounce bottle of yellow mustard, mini pretzels, etc. i was thinking, 'i wonder how long this (price drop) will last'.

All this rain is great and as far as SoCal is concerned that makes it a beautiful day, but enough is enough in such a short time, we need a break or we will have more mud slides and closed roads because of them. Let's have a break and let things dry out a bit before we get more rain. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen with rain forecast for a few more days.
