My cheeseburger yesterday turned into 3 sliders when I accidentally broke it. Twice.

It was good though. I threw on some spicy cheese, some tomato, a bit of onion, ketchup, lettuce, discovered we had dill pickle slices (:bliss:) and thought it was pretty good.
Tonight, I'm re-making my "Famous As Of Yesterday, In My Own Mind" slider knock offs again to see if I'm the only one who likes them.
With all the additions, they kind of resemble a postage stamp with a vase set on top. Very, very top heavy. :agree:

I made some corn masa pancakes, then thinned the extra batter to dip a couple of butterflied chicken thighs. Pretty lazy meal, but it wasn't last weekend's leftovers again. I did make enough for either lunch or dinner tomorrow though.

Masa battered chicken thigh, masa pancake, and green beans. Plus a couple of jalepeno/garlic stuffed "mammoth" olives.

1 bruce 1 1 bruce 1 For whatever it's worth, there are days when you just make me smile.

I'm thinking of brats tonight. With a ton of sauteed onions and peppers. And beans; I think there's a small container of baked beans in the freezer. Brats and beans. And maybe a Smirnoff Ice (or three). I know, I know, I'm not really supposed to have alcohol. But it's been a long week and it's been a hard week and well, dang.....

You need a bigger bun! Regular hamburger buns are too small anyway. Try the ones in the bakery section.
I usually (USUALLY) make my burgers without the bun, I'm not into bread these days and I used to love it and am confused as to why I don't like it nearly as much anymore. :dunno:
But when the food order came, someone (ahem) had ordered these huge, oversized, monster sized honkin' buns that looked like a T-Rex could comfortably slap an entire intact raptor onto. I tried one and it was just so delicious, but these tiny little burgers looked crazy on them. I actually laughed at my sandwich yesterday.
Tonight we're thawing some of those boneless/skinless chicken thighs for ourselves with some mixed vegetables we chopped up earlier. Lots of zucchini, carrots, onions, peppers of all kinds, butternut squash, celery and green beans.
The cats are getting grinds with some duck hearts on the side (my ground-food-hating-cat will be mad), and the dogs are getting the same, but their batch doesn't include Alnutrin.

I've been winging it all week with soup, salads, and my combo of veggies with garbanzo cakes, (they're like a flattened version of a falafel). But I'm looking forward to tonight since we're meeting friends for dinner at my husband's favorite Italian restaurant. It's a privately owned place with only 8 or 9 tables and since it's winter here you get a blast of cold air every time someone opens the door but it's so worth the draft. ;)
