What a lovely way to put that and so true. xGood oh. Scars are the beginnings of stories around the ice tea tray in the summer, or before the fireplace in the winter.
Aaaw bless your girl..... I don’t mind how many kits she has as long as she and they are all fine. The kids are putting £1 bets on it, lol....If she can't reach to clean, expect at least 4 kittens I'll bet! My poor girl looked like a bowling ball with toothpick legs!
Ouchie! We all have some cuts from boy cat as he is still quite “swipey” if you know what I mean. I know he doesn’t mean it, he’s just getting used to us. He enjoys a good fuss one minute then bites and claws you the next. Bless him. Luckily I don’t have any really young children, mine are 10 and upwards so they know they are approaching at their own peril.
This was a totally random and atypical situation of mama attacking me and it was totally my fault. I was turning on the shower and one of the kittens got scared by the sound and tried to squeeze himself into a little hole under my sink (he was probably about 6 weeks old), and I tried to grab him to stop him. He cried LOUDLY, the only time i've ever heard any of them do that, and mom came flying into the bathroom and went absolutely ballistic. I was on my hands and knees, i'm lucky she did not get my face! She literally chased me out of the bathroom and into my bedroom. I tried to shut her out but she squeezed in at the last minute. I opened the door and told her to get out and she did. I stood there for about 30 seconds and then opened the door and she was there crying for me!! She was so scared, she wanted me to reassure her and I felt so bad! Like either she realized what she had done, or the whole thing was just way scary for her too! There were lots of pets and cuddles and I was so proud of her, as silly as that sounds. She has always been such a good mommy and I could never be mad at her for doing exactly what she's supposed to! That is the only time she has ever shown any aggression whatsoever. That is definitely not the norm around here! But I learned my lesson and didn't try to grab any more scared kittensOuchie! Tiggy doesn’t display this type of behaviour (yet, lol) But I’ll be sure to approach with caution when the kits are born...
Loving hearing about all of your experiences and stories and so much love for your kitties.... x x x
Aaaw bless her, what a good mama... and then coming back to say sorry and look for reassurance.... Oh wow, I am really learning a lot about cats from you all. I thought that when the kits are weaned they would kind of drift apart and become really independent so it’s lovely to read such a heart warming story. I’m really sorry for your loss though. x x xWhen we had kits, we gave one away. She wanted to go, climbed up in his arms and wouldn't get down. But we couldn't do it again. Mom cat took care of the remaining three their entire lives, protecting them from strangers and being there for them. She outlived them, which was good because they did need her.
Ah thank you....Your little mama is so beautiful!
Waiting really is hard isn't it? I have read so many cat pregnancy articles and watched so many videos too! It's been a fun little obsession to forget about a bad day at work but now I just really want to know when mine will have her kittens.
Any kittens for you yet?
Aaaw Mia is gorgeous! That pic just made me giggle and my heart melt at the same time...She is so sweet! My Mia was really affectionate in the start and mid pregnancy but has a bit more distant (but always making sure she is in the same room as me) towards the end. She had been a bit more affectionate the last few days but other than that she is not letting on to when she might have the kittens even though she is 63 days from breeding.
Has your girl always been so talkative and affectionate or did this just start more recently?
Aaaw thanks..... she’s such a sweetie pie.She really is such an adorable little cat, can you imagine carrying around 6 or so babies in your tummy?
