My pawsitive news is that I found the same thick fleece top I bought this time last year in different colors and picked up two more - on sale.

There aren't any poisonous spiders here, fortunately. I got bitten by a brown recluse in the U.S. a decade ago and ended up in the ER, followed by months of treatment. Black widows were quite common where I grew up. I no longer put spiders outside after reading this and similar articles,
Is It OK to Throw House Spiders Outside?

but I do move some out of the reach of cats, at home or at work.

mani mani Your love is doing that for him. I was told my daughter would not make it either. You just keep doing what you are doing. He obviously feels your love. My daughter lived for 29 years. I was grateful too. I still am. Your positive attitude is fantastic. That can make all the difference in life. Enjoy your gorgeous , goofy , smoochy boy! He is beautiful! I send him some smoochy myself! Lol
My daughter had a severe heart defect and when it was found when she was 3 months old I was told that I should just take her home and love her a lot because I would not have her for very long (like maybe 6 months). Pediatric cardiology was practically unheard of and children were treated the same as as old people whose heart was giving them trouble. Children with heart conditions just managed as well as they could and usually did not survive their teenage years if until then. Now there is a whole field called "Adult Pediatric Cardiology" which specializes in children who lived long enough to outgrow their pediatric cardiologists which also did not exist until about 25 years ago. She lived to be 37! Her medical record was a mile long and nobody could understand how she managed to live that long and had a pretty good life to boot. That was in the bad old days when cardiac surgery on babies was almost unheard of. I still miss her (she was a wiz on the computer!) and it has been over 12 years. Her doctors at UCLAMC requested to be allowed to do an autopsy so they could learn what had kept her alive for so long which I gladly gave permission for them to do as that is what she had wished. Her life was not in vain, others learned from her. She was never treated as being "different" or "sick" or "disabled" (which she was in many ways, I can still hear her puffing after climbing stairs!) and thus grew up to be as "normal" as anyone can be.
Your fur baby is doing well, enjoy him while you can, his life also is not in vain as he is bringing you joy while he can.

Well last night I went to a local library book sale then Goodwill. Then came home to a Honeybee who wanted to play. I redid the stack of blankets in my bedroom and got some pictures of my girl.

She's always giving me the stinkeye  she doesnt like my camera I guess? :dunno:

That fluffy thing is a cat/dog toy. It's a big bushy tail thing that she bites and licks. She really is a whackadoodle!

@1 bruce 1 That joke about the laxatives is too funny!:flail: I bet ya a barrel of laughs! I do enjoy your posts! I hope ya continue to share!

This morning there was this beautiful sunrise but of course I didn't have my phone on me. Someone mentioned that Iphones take good pictures. I've always owned Samsung products. I've got the 8+ only because I was saving for this phone for a year..I had an S3 that was 5 years old so I figured it was time. I never had any issues with this camera. I ended up getting a larger gog storage due to all the photographs I take. I highly recommend any new smartphone! They all take good pictures! :yess:

Oh and one more picture of Bee trying to lick my finger or rather bite it.:flail:

This morning it was 17! It's so cold that Miss Bee slept on me most of the night and I didnt turn the heat down like I usually do. We are in for snow late tonight so I may get a day off if it's really bad!

A pawsitive is reading all your posts and thoughts about life and "stuff". It's nice to see people opening up and talking about a variety of things. Keep up the good work folks!
that stack of blankets with Ms Bee on top made me think of the old tale of the princess on the pea, nice memory.

Capuccino has been having a snotty nose for a while but money was short. Finally got her to the vet who gave her a shot that will last for 2 weeks instead of me having to fight her to give her a pill every day. The snotty nose is almost gone and it has been 2 days only. He also took a blood test because of her age (18 1/2) to make sure there wasn't anything else going on. Haven't heard anything yet about the results, the vet said it might take until Monday before he gets the results. Let's hope everything is ok, I have had Capucchino since she was ca. 6 months old and now she is an old lady like me.
Pawsitive story:
Just read that the oldest living cat, Rubble in the UK, just celebrated her 30th birthday, her care takers DO NOT want her to be in the Guiness Book of World Records because of the surrounding attention which might upset the cat. The oldest living cat as long as records have existed, was Creme Puff, a tuxedo from Texas, who died in 2005 at the age of 38. Baby, an all black domestic shorthair was also 38 when she died in 1970. There is a list of 40 cats who lived to be at least 21 years, with 12 of them between the age of 25 and 30, some of them going back to the early years of the 20th century, most were just tabby cats but some were pure-breds. Don't we all wish that our furry children would live that long? Capucchino at age 18 1/2 is a baby compared to those old ladies and gents. As long as she is in good or at least decent health she just might join these old kitties. This is only the second time that she has been sick, the last time was 2 years ago when she also had an upper respiratory infection.

@Norachan The black and gold kitty is a candle holder. Maybe Karen can incorporate it into her Christmas set for cat photos this year:) The photo of Henry Lee peering over the snow is so adorable. My kitties are like Honeybee, they don't like the cold or snow.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 You are correct, the Precious Moments figurine is most definitely maggiedemi. M maggiedemi there is no rule saying I can't have maggidemi the jewelry box and maggiedemi the figurine;)

I am going into work today to glue more carpet on wood. Well, that and cruise through the flea market that is nearby. I hope everyone has a great day / night.

Don't we all wish that our furry children would live that long?

Positive, that after a couple of very cold days and icy conditions, here in Colorado the road conditions will be dry for Thanksgiving travel

@Norachan Adorable pix! And yes, you would think kotatsu would be very popular globally, now that the world is (finally) globalized...
segelkatt segelkatt Our sweet Mainey man, Sammi angel, lived to 21, according to what I was told when I adopted him (that he was 14). May Cappuccino achieve this and PAWS-PURR! Also, I have a heart thing -- not the heart exactly, but a valve is wonky. I was afraid I couldn't have an operation on my eye that I needed, but they did a test and passed me, and I got it. I was told a lot of people live very normally with mitral valve prolapse. I sure am.
M maggiedemi See? SEE?!! Shane Kent Shane Kent is in agreement. ;):D
Furballsmom Furballsmom Yes, conCATS!:yess:
jcat jcat I always figure that the spiders who do make their way INTO the house were OUTSIDE before coming in, and so back out they go. I would make exception regarding the poisonous ones, though, because I can't endanger my loved ones or myself. And I love thick fleece tops! I get mine at Old Navy, my favorite clothes shop.
The PAWSitive? It's a nice cool Sunday, the radio is on, the cats are well fed, their fountain is cleaned and replenished, and it's another day to help gets cats home and loved!

Tarifa's collar had become ratty, so here she is sporting her new one, which I think really suits her! :hearthrob:

I am at work now and hit the flea market on the way. @tarasgirl the woman with the blue patterned cat said she was in the process of wrapping it in paper to bring it to the flea market for me when she noticed a big crack running through it:( Oh well, she had this and I know I have seen this somewhere before:)

Furballsmom Furballsmom Congrats on the 9000th post and I hope you as well as the rest of you Americans have a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday. The Canadian Thanksgiving was over a month ago, we get it over and done with long before the snow drops:)

Yes, you're right, Shane Kent Shane Kent ! So we're royal cat twins! :yess: I do love those Elizabeth Arden cats, because they're so beautiful and because mine belonged to my mom, who loved the cosmetics but I suspect, bought some of them so she could get the CATS.

Detail from a music box I bought for my mom -- it plays "Somewhere Out There", the pop song.

segelkatt segelkatt We share much in common. My daughter had similar predictions but had a shining spirit and out did everything ever predicted. The light of my life and my constant smiling companion lived to 29. She had to leave me in 2011 but the love continues! She was the greatest gift I could ever have been given. I smile just thinking of all the wonderful times we had together. She taught me many positive lessons that have helped to make me a better person. I am grateful for all!

PAwsitive Thing:
Geoffrey came out of his very secret hiding place.. I was almost on the verge of tears.. 4 hours of hiding, really did me in.. I thought I really lost him..

He came out.. I shut the closet doors, he ran under my bed.. I went into the bathroom, he came in-- we 'loved' and he was ok...

G explored his new cat tree. I set up Artie's old tent..he explored that.. loved some more, used his litter box, and back under the bed..

Food is all set out for him. Still hiding, but at least I know where he is.. sigh

Jcatbird Jcatbird knows, artiemom artiemom , and I do, too. I've had to go on expeditions to find cats who have shared life and home with me for years. One time I couldn't find Kinoko-chan and after hollering for her and looking all over the house, I found her wedged in under my dresser that had about 2" clearance. I'm not exaggerating. Tarifa had a period of hiding inside my dad's Barcalounger chair. INSIDE it. So I wouldn't be too worried by Geoffrey's hiding. Sometimes a cat just 'vants to be alone' as Garbo said. ;):winkcat: As long as he comes out to eat, drink and use his bathroom, he's doing okay. In time, he will seek you out for affection more, I'm confident. :caticon: Wishing you both a good Sunday evening and a great week!

The problem was, I spooked Geoffrey because I was redoing my bed, including relocating it.. Under the bed, has been his safe spot.. so when I moved the mattress and then the box spring, he spooked and took off for parts unknown... missing for at least 3-4 hours.. more like 4.. I was on the verge of tears...could not find him anywhere.. I searched, took furniture apart; yet I found not locate him.. G had to have been hidden somewhere, in my closet... I looked in there 5 times, including lite on and off and with and without a flashlight, and shaking the Temptations Treat Bag... no response..,

Once the sun went down, Geoffrey came out... My ' vampire cat"..........sigh

Yay for Geoffrey artiemom artiemom ! When I first moved Lelia found a hiding space she could only get to from behind the stove. Another time she got into my bf's closed sock drawer. It's terrifying when you can't find them. But such a relief when you do.

I'm about ready to head to an interfaith thanksgiving service. It's such a beautiful experience every year.

Sometimes we never DO know where they've been hiding. It is said cats can fit into any space they can fit their head through. I don't know if that's accurate, but they certainly do secrete themselves into places we can't find. I'm so sorry for Geoffrey that he was frightened by your having to do that work, and for you that he hid for so long, frightening YOU! The PAWSitive? That you are reunited and hopefully he now knows that bedmaking is not a cause for concern. ;):lovecat2:
