What's For Dinner? - 2018

Since the potatoes we dug up resemble Buicks more than potatoes (they're HUGE), we'll definitely be making something potato-y tonight.

I'm using my sourdough discards for waffles tonight. I wanted to get the oven-fried chicken thighs from the freezer (I had made them a few weeks ago) and throw a couple into the air fryer, but Dear Richard said he'd rather have sausage. So sausage and waffles tonight. With maple syrup.

You know the fried apples you can get at Cracker Barrel? I'm making those tonight, too.

the last serving (that's thawed) of lasagna, some baby carrots with blue cheese salad dressing, and an apple. later in the evening i'll have dessert -- a slice of carob cherry carob chip cake.

One pot pasta. I'm trying to stick with soft foods for the next 2 weeks. Soups, pasta and the like. I had part of a dental procedure done yesterday and per the dentist's instructions, I can't chew on the right side of my mouth until the next appointment.

What potato-y deliciousness did you end up making 1 bruce 1 ?

Oh my goodness! Those sourdough waffles are spectacular! So light and fluffy! My sister and BIL came in to pick up their apple dumplings just as we were sitting down to eat dinner, so they joined us. We had plenty; the recipe makes 12 8-inch waffles and there was enough sausage and fried apples, too. My BIL dearly loves waffles and Rick really likes them, too. And these are just so good. Definitely a winner to use my sourdough discards. Yum I had made pancakes before with the batter, so this time around, I decided to try waffles. I'm glad we did. (I got the batter out of the fridge yesterday morning and let it sit on the counter all day and it got all bubbly and you could tell it was doing well. Sorry. Bubbly sourdough makes me happy.)

Not sure about tonight, although I'm leaning toward ravioli from the freezer with our pasta sauce.

I don't know...I"m off my allergy meds until the final tests on Wednesday, and I'm feeling a bit wretched. Not sick at all, just icky. Something fast and simple. Maybe even PB&J.

Not sure. I guess whatever Rick wants to make.....or call out to order. I have a hair appt, so won't get home until going on 7:00. (I think there's a pizza in the freezer, so it's likely that will be dinner.)

Yesterday my neighbor and myself went to Bonefish Grill for dinner. That was my first time there. She had the kale salad and I had a vegetable plate, cole slaw, ginger rice and spinach plus their crusty bread with olive oil. It was delicious.

i'll heat up the last (that's thawed) serving of sloppy joes with the last (that's thawed) of the spaghetti squash, and have a sliced apple. i'll have dessert later in the evening, a slice of Dutch Apple Bundt Cake.
