What's wrong with quiche. I love it. Did I miss something? :headscratch:
:yeah: I just love a good quiche. We don't have it often, but we really enjoy them. They're a favorite around here when we do brunch on weekends, esp for the holidays.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with exploding food! You all made me smile....thank you!

I'm thinking of throwing together a sausage, pepper, and cheese omelet with some fried potatoes and caramelized onion. Kind of a breakfast-for-supper thing. Even with the OJ!

What's the deal with so many exploding food mishaps? I think we're all in this one together :hyper:
Also, note to self....do not attempt a quiche.
LOL except for the possibility of a carton of eggs flying across the room, quiche is dead-easy and almost fool-proof. One of those dishes I can make in my sleep, although I confess to using prepared pie crusts more than not.

BOY do I have some catching up to do!

SUNDAY... black beans and rice.

MONDAY...did my shopping. On the way out of the store, had a vertigo attack, keeled sideways out of the electric cart, hit my head on a bench, and lay there like a stranded turtle on its back. Off to ER (Walmar insisited...don't blame them...but kept my groceries in the cooler till I could get back that evening to pick them up), SO...chicken salad from their deli and crackers.

TUESDAY...Hot dogs with cheese and onions, of course.

TONIGHT...Um. Dunno. Either hot dog, onion and cheese "stromboli" or eggs and biscuits. Or fried egg sandwich. Depends on my mood. I may not feel bakish when the time comes.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 ---What the heck, I hope you're okay! What a terrible Monday for you! Glad Walmart helped you out though.
1 bruce 1 1 bruce 1 --Okay, now I get it about the quiche. Broken eggs. Gotcha!

I think we are just having taco salad again for dinner, kinda boring. Probably won't take a pic. I hope I have a spicy taco sauce to put on it.

No way! I dropped the yogurt, someone else dropped something out of the microwave and in the last few days it seems posters here have dropped food or remembered doing so, = bad luck...the last quiche we made was stolen by a dog when a cat helpfully knocked it to the floor. I can't deal with that kind of loss again. :D

Oh man, that Monday :alright: Glad you're OK. Wallmart was probably thinking "please don't sue" (lots of people would) but it's nice they kept your groceries together and in a cooler for you. Hopefully no concussion, etc?
I think you've earned all the hot dogs you want!

Thank you. And that being the case, I think I'll just do hot dogs. Nothing like a 3 minute meal.
I sometimes get the hungries for hot dogs. I don't eat a lot, but when I do get the hungries I eat nothing but hot dogs, hot dogs and more hot dogs.
What's your preferred brand? I've had Oscar Meyer, the organic stuff (Apple something I think) and Ball Park franks.
Sometimes I just eat 'em cold.

I think we're reverting back to rib-stickin' comfort foods. Chicken thighs, some vegetables and some potatoes.
Cats will have chicken hearts and livers and some boneless chicken as they've had two bone heavy meals in a row, and I don't wish to have to clean 9,000 pound dark matter out of the boxes  I don't want to have to go to the doc and tell him I injured my arm scooping cat crap.
Dogs will have tripe and boney chicken parts and some boneless chicken as well.
Everyone else gets grass and hay and feed

Cheap. And in my book, the best of the cheap dogs is the Bar S brand. They taste meatier to me. I think I could literally eat hot dogs 15 days a month and never get tired of them.
I've never tried Bar S. I will probably pick some up to stash in the freezer for the winter.
If I HAVE to make a trip into town to do something I really don't want to do, I'll cancel it if there's half a dozen snowflakes in the air, but if I get a food craving I'll risk my life driving in 6 feet of snow with 75 mph. winds to get that damn burrito. Better to plan ahead I suppose.

LOL, last winter, I staggered the better part of a mile on my walker for Chinese food. I know whereof you speak!

I grew up on these Glazier hot dogs. I had no idea they were just an Upstate NY hot dog! I feel sorry for you guys, that you never got to try them! They are bright red and the skin cooks up all crispy. Great for cookouts on the grill! :yummy:

I didn't take anything out to thaw this morning for the dog's dinner, so I'm stopping after work to pick up some fresh chicken thighs.

Think I'll put a couple thighs in an ancho-chile and lime marinade, cook them up in a skillet and make a chicken taco salad.
That taco salad sounds awesome. I haven't had one in ages. I'll jot it down on my "must make asap" list!
(Also....myfontisbacktonormalTYGod).

I picked up some wings and livers from a farmer that was ready to throw them out because they didn't move (in sales) and sheesh, the dogs act like those wings are solid gold. Crazy mutts.
