My cat had 5 kittens almost 5 weeks ago.
A couple days ago, one of the males was not doing well at all. He was not moving, not blinking but breathing, I took him to the vet where they took blood and said things appeared fine but needed to do a more extensive blood test which I couldn't afford on top of everything else.
They ended up giving him antibiotics, and a hearty dose of fluids on his back. As soon as we got home he was awake and wanting to run around. I figured it was just him being dehydrated because he has been a hundred percent fine ever since.
well now today I have the other male kitten, who is showing the same exact signs except I seen him vomit a small amount and it appears he has diarrhea. I only seen a little bit of residue on him but enough to know that it's diarrhea. I went ahead and gave him some water through the syringe that the vet gave me, as well as a dose of the antibiotics in hopes that this is just the same thing.
But he seems to be a lot worse, he threw up about 20 minutes after I gave him the water, nothing really came up but he gagged pretty bad. I have him wrapped up in towels laying by me. My vet is not open until Monday so I'm here hoping somebody can try to shed some light.
I have no idea what is going on, as the other kittens are all bouncing balls of joy. Even the sick one is completely better, so it seems. The funny thing is, is there is only two males in this litter and both of them are the only ones who are sick. He's not moving, his eyes are glazed over, but breathing. I'm not sure what else to do, or what this could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
