Every cat I ever owned has to sit right in front of the comp screen when I'm working. Then she demands to be petted, back scratched, belly rubbed, all done adoringly.

I helped alleviate some of the problem by putting a small cat bed just behind the computer so she can lay and watch or snooze away while I work. But if I should get up for a break she jumps up immediately and follows me. Usually to see if I am going to get something (for her) to eat.

It works some of the time and she does cat nap there. But only when I am at the computer. Never when I'm away. Fortunately for me she does not lay on or play with the keyboard. I consider myself a very fortunate servant for this.

So I am curious, who here has a computer not owned by your cat?

Yes, we also have a computer cat, Gohan, that likes to be inbetween us and our videogames. But the worst is Trin. He doesn't often seek affection, but once in a while he flops down on the hardwood for us to adore and pet him. When I get up to pet him, he steals my chair. :(

My various cats tend to interact with my tech but it is usually Shade who does it the most.

Kallie (passed over the bridge about a year ago) is investigating my desk.

At various ages, Shade hung out on my computer desk.

Now he is trying to learn a trade so he can buy his own catnip. Actually he was helping me search out a cat5 cable and sort other cables.

When asked what he was doing, all he had to say for himself was "Meowll."

Kallie was beautiful! nice pic!

Shade looks like quite the character. He reminds me a bit of Gypsy, kind of stretched out in front of the comp screen!

Rusty when I still had him at work. God bless the dudes I work for, I actually created a safe room in an empty office that I do not own. I have read and interacted with people on this site have problems rescuing kitties at work and I can only wish they had the support I had.

Rusty on my desk. He wants the "attention" I was giving to the "PC" but I was at work. I frequently visit TCS at work and that is because TCS saved me big time with the information and support to help Rusty and his little sister Kitty!

Kitty:)

Now Rusty has couches at home he could care less about what I do at work;)

I owe having those cats at home in large part to tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 and @ondine as they had no problem convincing this crazy cat dude that 2 cats is not too many (I had two at home the entire time). Now I got 4 kitties and I learned very well from this site that 2 cats is never too many if you can afford it. My wife and I don't have kids, we got kitties and I can totally afford them they cost less that kiddies.

We have a lot of diplomacy going on here. I like to work on my big desktop gaming rig, which is set up on a computer desk. There isn't a lot of space on the desk that isn't covered by the CPU and peripherals, and I encourage "laptops" by putting a nice soft warm cat blanket on my lap for anyone who wants to spend some time there, but the keyboard is definitely off limits. Tarifa is the only one who seriously challenges this, and her little pushy paws are always dissuaded along with a "no no!"
