TYSM @raysmyheart and you're so right! So glad you've got heat.
Shane Kent Shane Kent That is absolutely gorgeous! Hoping for pix *with cats added*! :climbcat::dizzycat::runningcat:

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine Remembering our 'woodshed' which was a small metal prefab unit on a concrete slab, where we stored our pellets for the pellet stove. Do you know what a pellet stove is? They use them a lot in Scandinavia and other places where it gets really cold. They're about the most efficient wood-burners I know of, and they use waste from lumber production, pelletized, which makes them fairly enviro-friendly as well. The pellets are sold in 50# bags, so we'd go to the hardware store up the mountain when they had them on sale and fill up the truck bed with them, then put them in the shed and my ex would bring a bag or two down to the garage in the garden cart when we needed them. The stove was an insert into a fireplace, so all the beauty and romance of a fireplace, but much more efficient and "green". The heat is dispersed throughout the building via a blower-motor. Genius!

:lovecat3:HELLO TGIF ALL!
Just wanted to pop in and ask if anyone has seen CATS 101 on Animal Planet?
Max and I love watching all animal shows but this one has such unique segments. The last show had LAMPKIN cats and KLEPTO cats. One cat has collected over 200 items, focusing on of all things, Underwear and Bras!!!! And LAMPKIN cats have hair with texture like sheep!

Off to see my grandma for a while so she can get some baby snuggles. I need to get some prints of pictures so she can show him off. She's 87 and has no interest in computers or smart phones. My mother in law and aunt in law don't have smart phones, either. I'll probably check out shutterfly - we got a gift card for them from the hospital. $20 will probably get lots of prints. I wonder if the gift card will cover the shipping, too.

OH YEAH, @alicia 88! If you sign up on their listserv and get their app, they have 100 Free Prints deals and sometimes Unlimited Free Prints deals. You do pay shipping, but it's an unbeatable deal!
Max's Human Max's Human -- yeah, I have! Aren't they amazing?
Off to do the nightly sharing for the cats and kittens of the NYACC!

That snowshoe is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too clever (and handy) for her own good. So glad my Seesh never had one of these water coolers. It would have been an accident waiting to happen. :insertevillaugh::spew:

Finished one of two cat perches. I will call these "Kittypa's Modified Carpet Covered Cat Perch Version 1".

View attachment 215016

The base and top are 2 feet by 3 feet. It is 71 inches tall with a 12" x 12" hole in the top.

I have wanted to make these for over a year and will be taking this one home tonight:) Thank you @kittypa for sharing your design with me, I know I changed it a lot but it is the same basic design.
Shane Kent Shane Kent - Just fabulous; it looks like all the tweaking and attention to engineering detail really paid off!

I've been giving the cats their first worming meds of the year. I use the pipettes you can squeeze onto the back of their necks, but with these cats even that is a challenge. I managed to get 19 of them done yesterday. Sadie was asleep under a blanket and I managed to sneak my hand under and give her the meds before she noticed.

:woohoo:

Now I just have to do Marley, Albert and Button. Three huge boys who hunt a lot and are very skittish. This could take a while......

Norachan Norachan - My hat's off to you - just trying to do eleven - eight of whom were once ferals - is a challenge; I can't imagine doing twice that number. Bravo!

You must be as sneaky as a snake patient as a Saint.

I don't think we're going to have any issues with baby clothes. My mom and my mother in law both stalk swap shop like crazy and keep buying us clothes. Used baby clothes are great. They grow so fast, they don't wear anything for long so everything ends up being like new quality and you get them for a fraction of the price.
My mother in law just gave us a whole bag of expensive brand name clothes - like Calvin Klein and puma - that she got for $10. I wouldn't buy those brands new because they're just not worth it considering how fast they'll be outgrown but I'll definitely take them used!

That's the thinking of generations past, Alicia88 Alicia88 - and it carried a lot of Families through some of the world's darkest days.

"Use it up,
Wear it out;
Make it do,
Or do without."

There's one place where people who think this way very seldom find themselves: in debt. Bravo for your Parents and your In-laws! It sounds like Aedan picked a pretty good Family for himself.
