Oh it's ear definitely isn't tipped. That's what I'm saying. I'm not 100% sure that they ear tipped the last one. So if this is the same black cat as before (Jackson) they will go ahead and ear tip him. If it's a new one they will neuter/spay and ear tip anyway.
Fingers crossed it is a new one so I didn't waste the spay/ neuter appointment. There are still so many to Do! There are at least two grey and white short hair that look like males to me. A long haired gray and white that I think is a female. Two tuxedos that I think are male. Another black and white that looks like a female. And a calico that is a female. And a solid black small one that looks like a girl. Who knows how many solid black ones there really is though : /
Good job! You're doing really well with your trapping. I guess Clyde can't tell the cats apart either? I had a lot of male tuxedos in the colony I TNR'd, but at least they look slightly different once you take a closer look at them.
These are all from Clyde's! I want to get more of his done before I start back up on the remaining cats at Park Colony. Clyde has been in a rehabilitation center since his hospital admission to help him get his strength back, he is supposed to come back on Thursday, so I didn't ask him about this cat, but he does get confused. Like he forgets that Nemo is already fixed a lot. We shall see tomorrow!
Also tonight I saw a Siamese looking cat (It was dark but I am pretty sure it had blue eyes), but it had a collar and tags on. I wonder how many of the neighbors cats come over to eat at Clydes? I also wonder if it is altered. Hmm.
It was a Different kitty! This one is a girl! I named her Olive! She actually had a spay scar so she must have been one of the ones Teddi TNRed before! They went ahead and ear tipped her and updated her rabies vaccine and she got a dose of Advantage II.
They couldn't get us in next week for another spay/neuter. So our next time trapping is going to be 11/27 when we need to trap 4 of them for this clinic! I am a little nervous that we won't catch 4... the last two times we barely caught one... but I think we are going to pull the food up the night of the 26th and then bait the traps with KFC and check the traps several times throughout the day- and the night if needed.
Good luck with the next round of trapping. Did you ever get the trap with the holding cage? It would be great if you had a way to trap and keep the cat safe and comfortable for a few days, then be able to transport them for a spay.
Even if you only get one cat it will be one less to worry about.
I don't have the bigger recovery traps, I have two cheap traps from Tractor Supply and then I just got two Trucatch traps donated to me which I am excited about!
Ok so on top of this week's incredible amount of stress (if you follow my thread in pregnant cats and kitten care you already know, but we are coordinating two rescue transports this week and we will be having lots of puppies and kittens at our house one night and we are also getting a pregnant stray) we have Clyde. So the last I talked to Clyde he was supposed to come home from the rehab facility last Thursday. We fed and watered the cats Thursday morning, then came back Friday morning to make sure he was there. Well his walker was in the living room (he can't walk without it and he had it at the rehab facility) but we didn't see him anywhere... I thought it was odd but decided to just feed the cats and come back Saturday and hopefully hed be in his seat. Well Saturday he wasn't there either. I emailed his friend that has been buying the cat food and asked if she knew where he was since I haven't heard from him. I called the rehab center where he was and all they could tell me is that he wasn't there. I checked the hospital where I work and he wasn't there either. I started freaking out about it. I finally got an email back today. Apparently he fell twice at the rehab facility and developed pneumonia so they sent him to a nursing home. His walker is at the house because he made his son take him to the house so he could sit with the cats before he went to the nursing home, that is so sad. He is planning on coming back to the house once he is better. I told her to let him know that I definitely will continue caring for the cats while he is gone. They are getting to know me which I think will make trapping easier.
Oh dear, poor Clyde. I'm so glad that you are there to help take care of his cats. What an nightmare if he was taken into hospital and there was no one to feed them.
Do you think he will be home again? Pneumonia is really serious in elderly people isn't it? Is it aspiration pneumonia? I've lost a few elderly relatives to that.
I really hope things work out. It sounds as if you might need to rehome or at least relocate some of his cats. Sending you lots of happy thoughts and vibes.
I am not sure, I haven't talked to him yet, just got the email from his friend that buys the food. I asked her for a number so I could call him and let him know how the cats are doing. She made it sound like he is pretty determined to return home, but I am not sure how realistic that is.
