Seal wants belly rub now! So sweet with the heart on his lower belly! He's an ex-feral and just in the last week he has allowed me full access to that belly! I'm in heaven...
Little Figgy's spay belly.Rocket post spay belly (which I found funny because it looks to me like she is pulling her fuzz up).
Left lateral flank spay. Also common in US.Gosh yeah! Did you know in UK they cut in the side when they do a spay?
This does not protect you from my fiendish plansUnfortunately Sol crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. Jack is still with me - all 11 pounds of fur and is still sleeping on his back at times.
That's the preferred kind of spay scar, which is closed with one or two sutures. I've removed the sutures myself when they are spayed like this, because it's so easy and there's no need to stress a cat with another vet visit just to snip and remove the suture. And of course the dissolving sutures are the best of all! That's interesting. I had a cat years ago who had a long jagged pucker scar (a good 6-8 inches long and inch wide from the scar mess). Poor thing, I swore off clinics for spays after that not that I had a choice in the situation. In the picture Rockets incision is just the neon pick section and was less than an inch. When the stitches came out you could barely tell where it was within a week.
I know, I know! Makes us wish we had lots more hands, doesn't it?This thread is one of the greatest things I have ever seen.
Look at all these jelly bellies. I want to rub them all.
Here's Nat showing off his pretty belly to his mama Gracie, who was not impressed.
