you will do fine with the insulin. You know how it works. If you can vaccinate, you can give insulin.

And that bottom female looks like a very dark tortie in the picture you have of her! They, and mama, AND the other little family are adorable! OH...is that kitten by the foot in the pic also a tortie?

I am not sure! Looks like it could be! I wish they had better pictures to send me. I haven't gotten an update on if they have been able to catch that family and bring them inside or not (the dilute momma and 4 kittens.) Apparently the people were moving and literally couldn't wait for the rescue group to come pick them up so they just let them all outside :( It is very sad, but apparently not an uncommon way of thinking in that area. I am hoping they are able to catch them and get them in a safe place until we can get them (I also would like some better pictures! lol)

I know.. The kittens are apparently 4-5 weeks old. I am hoping they and mom are social enough that the rescue group is able to catch them soon! I haven't heard anything today though!

So apparently the dilute tortie family- the people moved, left them outside and now won't give the rescue an address to go get them. They are working on it.
The calico family... the girl who is surrendering them said there is also a boy kitten that she wants to keep. She has proceeded to ask if the rescue can take her dog... and bunny. The director is going to go to her house and see if she has a whole housefull of animals. That is what it sounds like. And she is going to try to convince her not to keep the boy kitten. Because we all know that she will just get rid of it in a few weeks too :/

Better news! Sabrina and Sadie have an interested adopter! Also so does Bonnie! We really needed adult adoptions to take in more cats, hopefully these work out!

Aww, Sabrina and Sadie. I hope they get a fantastic home together!

I also hope the rescue can get an address to trap that mom and babies.

It does sound like the gal wanting to keep a kitten, yet get rid of her dog and bunny, has no business getting another pet. A pet is a long-term responsibility! Arrgghh.

Plus don't forget the momma calico and her kittens! The whole thing just seems strange for sure.

Right! I'm glad someone is going to her house to check things out. Something is very strange about it.

I have ONE pair with VERY pointy toes. I've been saving them for just such an occasion.

I am THRILLED, however, that the girls now have a home together! What wonderful news that is!

Yes Sadie and Sabrina and also Bonnie are all pending adoption. We are just having difficulties arranging time to meet their adopters because of the moving madness. Officially signing the new lease and moving things in today! Hopefully my life comes back together soon!

I want an update on Sadie and Sabrina from their new parent after they get there. I love these gals! :)

I definitely will pass it along to them and share any pictures that they give me on here! We will still have them a few more days- it is impossible for me to coordinate meeting anyone while we are moving. My life is in disarray for the next couple of days lol. We started moving in this evening, we shampooed all of the carpets and moved a few things. We moved Blake and her kittens in to one of the bedrooms... I need to take another fecal in on them to see if they are cleared of the coccidia... I suspect that they may not be though. :/ I know I have seen on here that there is another medicine that some vets use for coccidia other than Albon... but I can't remember the name? Could someone tell me what it is? I might call my vet tomorrow and see if I can get that instead. Some of their poos are solid. Some are not. We'll get another fecal in to the vet soon. I might start them back on the Albon today.

The Albon will help to inhibit the coccidia growth in the meantime, but Ponazuril will kill it fast in 1-3 doses.

It's an equine product used off-label for cats. It's very safe. If your vet does not have it and won't get it, you can get it online or from a tractor supply store.

Moves are a lot of work! Hang in there! :)

I'm so glad you are actually getting moved. I know things will be much better once you get in and settled!

Where would I be able to order Ponazuril online? Also what is the doseage for cats? Should I do it with the Albon? I didn't get a chance to call the vet today because we moved the bulk of everything today. Now I am at work with absolutely zero sleep. I need to call the vet soon anyway to see if I need to get the diabetic cat in for an exam when we get him to get his insulin refills or if his previous vet can just fax the scripts to them.

Ask the vet about the Ponazuril first. It comes in tubes and is expensive. Perhaps the vet can get it for you, dispense it in amounts you need, and hold the rest for you.

Should you do what with the Albon?

Vet visit for the diabetic cat is a must. Can you get copies of her previous medical records? That would help.

Good you are mostly moved. I know you are far from settled yet though. Please make sleep a priority today! :)

Called the vet. They want to do another fecal on them just to make sure that it isn't something else causing runny stools as well before trying a different medicine for the coccidian.
I was asking if I got the Ponazuril if I should still give the Albon as well. I will be taking the fecal in tomorrow- the vet sends it off to a lab so I won't know the results today. (sometimes they will look at it in the office if I request them to, but the lab is more accurate)
The diabetic cat (his name is Jasper) is already fully vetted. I was hoping that the vet he currently goes to could fax his records over and my vet could give us the insulin without us having to pay for an exam and everything, but they said they would have to at least do the exam- I can have the other office fax his blood work and everything else over though!
I have this weekend off! So hopefully we can finish moving and getting me and the animals settled in and maybe a few adoptions before taking in the next bunch of kitties!
We are getting a little black female kitten tomorrow. Someone found her dumped in a grocery store parking lot. Hopefully she is healthy and old enough for adoption!
I am going to try to get updated pictures of Blake's litter soon- they are too stinking cute! Getting so big!
