I am thinking maybe we will only take on a few of the older kittens and not the Siamese family until some of our other momma cats are adopted. I don't think they will have any problems finding another rescue to pull the Siamese family from them! In a couple of weeks we are getting a dog from one shelter who has been there for two and a half years so I am thinking I should slow up on my kitten and cat intakes so that when she is here I have more time to work with her- I am sure being in a kennel that long has had some effects on her!
I think explaining everything to you guys helped me think things through on my own lol.

Take them all! :lovecat2:

I agree that the mom looks stressed and she and her kittens need to be pulled.

The other kittens are so cute and are ready to adopt. They will enjoy time in your main room.

I started reading this thread late last week & am finally caught up to live. Wow, ashade1, I'm so impressed by your abilities & energy. If you don't mind saying, how old are you? I'm guessing you're young (under 30), because I just can't imagine having your energy later in life. You've inspired me to work harder to take better pics of my cat. Keep up the good work!

ileen ileen I used to (and still do) take days and read through the long threads. Some of the stories here are just amazing. So I am honored that you read through our whole thread! I am 22!

I visited London's family today to confirm their genders and get new pictures. They are SO BIG. They look and act like they are a week older than they actually are! They actually started eating kitten food today! They aren't even 4 weeks yet (will be on Friday.) I told her to only put the food down when she can watch them since they are still so young, but they have a whole mouth full of teeth! All but one of them looks like they are going to have longer fur like momma! They are running around playing and everything. I am going to post pictures of the two I thought were boys originally and see what you guys think... I think they might be girls now? I don't know why I am having such a hard time sexing this litter! I think its because normally by now I can start to see a little bit of where their testicles will be, but I don't see that on any of them, so I am thinking they are all girls?

So here are everyone's pictures! Everyone has longer fur except for the solid black one. And it has a different looking face... I'm not sure how to explain it really. You can kind of see in the picture. The black and the tuxedo are the two I need help sexing.

I think I am having such difficulty sexing this litter because they all look like girls lol. I am more confident with sexing if at least one is different from the others!

Are these the new kittens you pulled from the shelter?

Did you pull the Siamese mom and her kittens?

We haven't pulled any more kittens yet! We are still working on transport! That last batch of kittens I posted are London's (the dilute tortie that we have in foster).
We are working on getting a foster for the Siamese family! I am just hesitant on taking them in to the main living part. I would like to find a foster.

Ok guys! I have a long update and a bizarre situation: so stay with me. lol. Since my last post we have had a few adoptions, the two from the siamese mom were adopted- the siamese mom got sick and we went to the vet. She has bloody diarrhea. Fecal was negative (could be wrong) so we are giving her a couple of different medications. This is day two on them and she seems better. Since that foster has cats of her own they didn't feel comfortable taking her back since she didn't have a set diagnosis (I don't blame them) so she is back with me. They have room for more fosters so I told the shelter that we would take the other siamese family and the 4 older kittens. We took in a black 4 week old abandoned kitten and got Blake to accept it! Today we went to the spay clinic- we only took Sadie, Olivia, and Bonnie. The siamese mom was supposed to go but she wasn't well so we decided to take her next time. Sadie and Olivia were both in heat. Bonnie was PREGNANT! Several weeks they said. Her kittens literally are only 8 weeks old now. Goes to show how soon they can get pregnant after delivering! They went ahead with her spay and she is back in her foster home for her recovery.
Olivia and Sadie are doing great!
While we were at the clinic we were contacted by another rescue about a litter of 4 week old kittens that were orphaned. They said one kitten was a lot smaller than the others and wouldn't take the bottle so I decided we would try to get her on London.
We took her up there and she wouldn't nurse off of London... however while I was there I noticed that London is HUGE. Like I mean her belly is the size she was whenever we got her from the shelter. I started feeling her and I can feel little popping. Like you can when a cat is like 6 weeks pregnant. Not true movement. But like bubbles. There is no way she can be pregnant again right? Her kittens will be 4 weeks old on Friday? I am so confused. I have heard that they can conceive a couple of times and deliver a few days apart, but surely not weeks? She is kept separate in her foster home, but the only other cat there is a spayed female. I am so confused! I guess it could also be a pyometra making her so big but I wouldn't feel the popping would I? She hasn't had any discharge and she is in great spirits. Eating a lot. She was wormed with Panacur for 5 days when we first got her. I will call my vet in the morning and get her in for an x-ray ASAP. But I am so confused.
Anyway while I was examining London, the little kitten started snarfing down London's wet food. So she actually will be going back to the rescue that we got her from so that she can stay with her siblings.

Wow! That is a lot. Everything sounds good, although it's sad that Bonnie was pregnant again.

I think getting an x-ray is the way to go with London. She certainly sounds pregnant. Anything is possible with cats. It will be interesting to see if she is pregnant or not. If she is, she may be too far along to terminate. Pyometra certainly needs to be ruled out.

Good the little kitten is transitioning to soft food. Hopefully she will begin to grow now!

Glad Sadie and Olivia's spays went well too.

Let us know what happens with London.

Have you ever heard of a cat getting pregnant while she is already a few weeks pregnant? I wasn't sure if that would be possible. But if she somehow got pregnant after she had this litter than she surely would not already be showing and me start to feel them moving. Her kittens are barely 4 weeks old... It is so weird to me.

I am also worried about the effect having litter so close together would have on her body. Luckily her kittens have started eating wet food so she won't be nursing them as much here soon?
I just am having problems wrapping my head around this. lol. She has been with us about 7 weeks now.

It's a head scratcher.

What's her backstory again? How long was she in the shelter before you took her? Was she a stray or a drop off?

When is her x-ray scheduled?

If she is pregnant, she can manage because she has had good nutrition for weeks now. It's not ideal at all though.

She was a stray before the shelter got her, they only had her a few days before I got her- so it is possibly that she was around other intact males her entire pregnancy...
She (and her kittens) are going to be dropped off tomorrow morning and then the vet will see her and do an exam whenever they can get to her and then do x-rays if they think its necessary- which I am sure they will.

I hope they perform an x-ray. You need to know how many kittens and how far along in order to make decisions. I don't think there's any other way to know for sure. Good they can see her tomorrow!
