My friend and co-worker has Charlie, his cat who has stomach cancer. Charlie stopped eating on Thursday and Bob got him to the vet right away on Thursday afternoon. Vet gave him an anti-nausea shot, hoping that would be enough to get him to start eating. But on Friday morning, Charlie still wasn't eating. Bob took him back to the vet and we were preparing ourselves for the worst at that point. But they made an appt at an ER vet on Saturday morning. Turns out Charlie was blocked up pretty badly and Bob didn't realize it. He had to leave Charlie there for the weekend.

Bob got a phone call last night  from the ER vet. Charlie had pooped, peed, eaten a little bit, and was meowing....loudly. When he told me, I sat and cried...I was just a blooming mess all day yesterday, so my nerves were really on edge.

Anyway, Bob went up to the ER vet this morning and brought Charlie down to his regular hospital to stay yet tonight. He hasn't peed since that first pee yesterday morning, so Charlie is still catheterized. But all in all, it really looks good for Charlie and, if he could pee again, they'll probably send him home. So we're hoping that tomorrow, Charlie will be back home.

Bob told the vet. "Charlie is my best friend. You do what you have to do to save him."

That's my positive thing.
Wow, that's quite a story.  Keeping my fingers crossed for Charlie!

I had an exceptionally lovely yoga class this morning and it was plain afterwards that the students really care about and support each other.

Charlie came home last night (Monday)! He peed twice on his own and was still yelling. Vet called Bob to take him home!
 Yay, Sir Charles!!

More :vibes: for Charlie!

Yesterday I made a donation in Molly's name. :rbheart: Every year near the anniversary of her death I make a donation to the shelter we adopted Abby from.

Went to the opening of an exhibition by an amazing artist last night. Then went for drinks with friends. And not a trace of a hangover this morning.

Thanks, Karen! Glad you got a good night's sleep.

Kathy, I'm sorry about your MIL. Wow, at 90, I can't even begin to imagine how much pain she is in.
that she'll recover quickly.

Mrs. B, that's just an adorable picture!

Positive thing? Coming here and reading about all the positive things!

She is just beautiful, and yes, quite tiny. To put it into perspective, my younger son reached 30lbs at 8 months old!! But he was a whopper.

My positive is that l'm finally home eating ice cream in my toasty warm house with the frigid wintry blast outside. Four days off, aaaaahh :)

At 8 months, my daughter was about 13 pounds. She's always been tiny though. On my due date, she was only 5lbs 10oz. She was already 2½ months old by then.

I have nothing positive to say right now. I'm not having a good evening.

How have I missed this thread all this time?  Today, I was able to find supplies and made four houses.  (I make them out of Rubbermaid totes).

Pretty soon, some cats in area colonies will be nice and toasty warm.

Definitely adorable!!!!

I took the heavy duty AC unit out of my bedroom window because Maia and I were being cooked alive from the new heat system! Now we have the window to open

And after just three minutes of it being in the house (delivered by Jenna, who designed and made it):

Definitely a good day!
