I use the bones from the meat I prepare for them for soup stock too. I save all the thigh bones from the turkey, chicken and cornish hen. When I have enough, (or when my existing freezer soup stock has been used up) I make another pot. But it's for me, not them.
And yes, I always simmer long enough to get that lovely aspic, too. Such healthy stuff, full of collagen and nutrition!
