He looks very much like my Princess. I would say that he is an American Domestic long-haired yellow (or orange) tabby,

He certainly is very handsome 
I would think he does have some Persian in him due to his flatter face shape. He's most likely a Persian crossed with a domestic cat.
His colour and pattern would be classed as a red mackerel tabby.
Red is the correct term used in the cat fancy for orange, yellow and marmalade cats.
