Hi, my cat keeps getting itchy ear infections and occasionally open sores on her face. The vet says its yeast and bacteria, not mites although I'm giving her revolution just in case it was mites. So more likely allergies... I switched to a novel protein vet food but now I'm wondering if its the litter. I've been using okocat clumping wood and equine stall wood pellets. Sounds like if theres pine in there it could cause allergies and thinking back I think it started around the same time. I'm thinking of trying paper litter. Any feedback on the best kind? or alternate non clay suggestions that would be hypoallergenic? Has anyone else had allergy/ ear infections from wood litter?

Yesterday’s news is a good paper pellet litter. When the cat urinates in it it disintegrated into a sawdust like material that you can sort of lift off the top.
