Oh, don't you just love Barcelona. I've been there a couple of times--I love that city!
Barcelona, Spain. Best trip of my life.
It was remarkable. I was there with my ex for 10 days. Aside from all the wonderful Gaudi/Picasso/food/architecture/fun in general - we took the trip out to the monastery up at Montserrat which was incredible. We wanted to see Dali's residence but didn't realize it was closed during the winter months (we were there in November). That was a bummer for me - he's one of my favorite artists but at least we got to the Picasso museum, which was equally enjoyable - albeit much different

BTW - my partner and I have been trying to plan a big vacation for 2014 and this thread will probably give me ideas so keep those answers coming!
I'll be going there in March, to start a cruise. I may have to plan a couple of extra days just to see Barcelona.Oh, don't you just love Barcelona. I've been there a couple of times--I love that city!

My parents traveled a lot after they retired and New Zealand was one of their favorite places.I'll be going there in March, to start a cruise. I may have to plan a couple of extra days just to see Barcelona.
The furthest I've been from home is New Zealand. That's traveling from the U.S., or Scotland or Austria where I've also lived.
Oh you should, if at all possible. Even if you just pick out a few highlights it will be worth it.I'll be going there in March, to start a cruise. I may have to plan a couple of extra days just to see Barcelona.

Haha! I was just watching an old Margaret Cho special on HBO and in it she rants about the toilets in India. It's is the ultimate destination for my BF - he's Hindu - but he knows there's no way he'll be able to get me there with the condition of my knees right now. Squatting - is NOT an optionMorocco. Did you go to the souk? If yes what did you buy? I hate toilets abroad.
I would like to go to India and take one of the tours on elephants to find tigers. People don't always find one but I would like to go while there are still some left in the wild. Even if I didn't see any tigers there is other wildlife still in India. There are even a few lions but they are different from the ones in Africa. They don't form prides the way they do in Africa. Probably because there isn't enough food in one place to support a pride so they are spread out and each lion fends for itself or a female has to fend for her cubs as well.
I've seen that one. There is another one where a tiger on a reserve would charge an elephant. Of course the elephant backs off and in one case a little girl fell off of the elephant. The tiger wouldn't get that close to the elephant so they were able to get her back up on the elephant. They had even nicknamed that tiger Charger. It's not 100 percent safe, nothing is especially where wildlife is concerned but it is the safest way to get close to a wild tiger. If one can be found that is.
I was watching a PBS special about tigers. The tiger jumped and tried to grab the mahout as it went over the elephant's back. It grazed him and tore his shirt all to pieces.
