I would describe your adorable kitten as a brown mackerel tabby and white domestic longhair. For most cats, both shorthairs and longhairs, it's not quite accurate to call them "mixes." Mixed-breed dogs are mixtures of specific breeds, but most cats are simply domestic cats, not mixtures of specific breeds.

Thanks! I know he is a domestic kitty. Before him we had a known MC mix, meaning one parent was a MC the other a domestic long hair. How would you accurately name that?

A cat that has a known Maine Coon parent would indeed be a Maine Coon mix :)
Most cats aren't mixes, but some are!
