Summer's almost here and I cannot wait! Summer is my absolute favorite time of year. Here are a few things I love during summertime
Cookouts
Jet-skiing

The smell of fresh cut grass

Washing my truck and then going for a drive down a country road with the windows rolled down and my favorite cd turned up a bit. This is especially nice in the evening after a sweltering day, when the air is still really warm but the burning hotness of it is gone.

Cute summer clothes

What do you love about Summertime???

I miss the fireflies more than anything. We don't have them up here and they were so much a part of the good side of my childhood.

Eating watermelon on the front porch at night.

-nice thoughts there about driving down a country road Kelly and the other things too... and ummm... the cute summer clothes as well.

I like being able to go outside late at night when it's not so cold out and you can just walk out of the house in the same clothes you had on when you were in the house.

I love the sound of lawn mowers late in the evening.

The smell of BBQ.

Playing softball.

The condensation on a cold drink during a hot day.

Going to the beach, though I rarely ever do that.

Seeing people lined up at the BDI on my way home from softball (local ice cream stand).

Seeing a healthy field of flax. (The flower is blue)

Lots of other things

Summer always reminds me of my childhood. And it kinda makes me feel 'young' again.

More often than not, I'm the one mowing that grass

I love that sound when it's in the distance and it's not MY lawnmower

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Wow, I love absolutely everything about Summer!
The bright sun, lying on the beach feeling the sun, gazing out over the ocean while listening to it's beautiful, relaxing sound. Going outside after dark wearing a tank top and feeling comfortably warm. Fresh picked strawberries, and all the other produce at the produce market! You're right, Eddie, fireflies at night are just magical! I could just go on and on! Summer is really just the greatest!

I love heat! I am always cold so the summers here in Washington DC are just glorious. Hot humid. I know I am a little weird

But summers are also when my family gets together at my sisters pool with some BBQ ribs, potato salad and fresh, fresh cold watermelon.
Oh I can't wait. My hubby mentioned his ribs today and my sisters pool. WooHoo!!

And everything else that have been mentioned before me.

Sitting out on the deck in my PJ's in the middle of the night waiting for my doggies to finish going potty. Oh....wait, I do that in the winter time too. Never mind.

The smell of cut grass ( though I have hayfever)

Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face

Distant noises of kids playing, laughter and smell of BBQ's

Reminds me of my childhood, mum taking us on picnics, only for us to eat lunch and want to go home!

The beach, listening to the sea is peaceful and relaxing

The feel good factor!

- Heading to the beach with my friends who are also home from college
- Tanning for hours on the beach
- Getting "surprisingly tan"
- Heading to a friend's pool AFTER being at the beach for a few hours
- Diving in the waves
- Watching the sandcrabs come out of their holes
- My 10 bikinis
- Enjoying BBQ at various friends houses
- 4th of July at the Granada Bridge in Ormond Beach!!!
- Walking around town after being at the beach still with my bikini on and a pair of shorts or pants (yes, this is totally normal in Ormond, though in Orlando it's totally not)
- Keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a slight breeze so Brendan won't find laying out "unbearable" and cut our beach time short lol

I love summers (and pretty much every other season) in Florida!

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SUMMER:

Working in my yard... I love my riding lawnmower & digging stuff up is fun!

Being able to wash my car MYSELF!!! Blast the tunes from the garage, dance around barefoot while I occasionally spray my daughter.

Letting the windows open on cooler Summer nights; so the kitties can sit and watch all the birdies in the trees.

Ice Cream..... any kind of ice cream.....

Summer Festivals. Cincinnati is chock full of German & Irish festivals and all kinds of fun things for kids (& adults), just about every weekend. Festival food, festival beer, festival rides.

Just being outside in general... after being couped up inside all winter long... nice to sit outside on the deck in the morning with coffee & sit outside on the deck at night & light a fire in the chiminea.

Fireflies. Butterflies. Dragonflies!

Wearing Sandals... open-toed shoes... so I can paint my toenails & wear toe rings.

Thunderstorms... the kind that pop up out of nowhere and drench you. (not real fond of tornado warnings tho)

Just for you, Steph: I bought 5 lbs of strawberries that look like they're on steroids today at the outdoor produce stand.
Too bad they aren't local - our strawberry pick season is in mid-June. These came in from eastern WA. Remember the desert I showed you on the vacation thread? yeah, over there.

You know, I had no idea this activity existed until recently......
I need to re-think my summer wardrobe.
