Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this site so I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on what breeds my little black cat could be. We were told his mother was a British blue shorthair (im not sure if this is true). I’m guessing he has the tabby gene as he has “ghost markings”. Also interestingly his eyes seem to change colour ? Sometimes they’re very orange and other times they’re just not that orange. I’ve also noticed he doesn’t have much fur on his chin for some reason and he has a white dot on his chest and a small patch of white fur on his belly.
Thank you :)

Unless you saw the registration paperwork the mother was likely a domestic.
If you saw papers then you know the ‘breed’ is BSH X

the vast majority of cats are domestics with no pedigree cats in them.

ghost markings on solid cats are common and generally fade with age. He’s a very cute boy

He is a beauty😻 I think he is a dsh black kitty with a locket and button and he looks like he has oriental ancestry to me. Their eyes can appear deeper and lighter depending on the lighting and background. His eyes are gorgeous, such a deep gold.

oh damn I didn’t know his lil stripes will fade, they look so beautiful! You learn something everyday. Yeah tbh I thought they only added his mum is a “bsh” so that more people would view the ad, regardless of the breed he’s very much loved and wanted.
