I read that not too long ago as I was researching food options. I was taken back a bit. I don't think there will ever be a consensus on what food is best for cats until the element of convenience for owners and big profits for companies and their marketing strategies are gone. And that's NOT gonna happen!
They say ignorance is bliss, and I have to agree because as time goes on and I educate myself more and more (on things other than cat food too) I get more and more frustrated with our society and marketing tactics. I want to go back to being ignorant! LOL!
