Hi all - My name is Bobbi. I'm a work at home jewelry artist, and 2 time foster fail I am cat-servant to Socks and Boots - 3 yr old sister and brother that were my first fosters for a local rescue; and most recently, Fig and one of her kittens, Kadota (Kodi for short). I had stopped fostering, mostly for medical/work reasons, and partly because it broke my heart to give them back to the shelter. So I decided to take a break from fostering.
The universe however decided otherwise, and sent Fig my way. I named her Fig because she's no bigger than one. She showed up in my backyard scared and starving a week after my neighbors moved out (they also left a cat tree on the carport for the landlords to throw out). It took months to earn her trust and get her confined to my screened porch - sadly she was already pregnant by then.
The short version - she gave birth, had 5 beautiful babies (though one sadly passed away at 18 days). 3 of the 4 are polydactyl just like Fig. I 'helped' her raise them, and when they were old enough, 3 went to my local rescue, (the same one Socks and Boots came from), and have since found their furever homes. I kept Kodi, mainly because of Fig (that's my story, and I'm sticking to it) - out of all the kittens, he almost always slept with her regardless of her being the milk-bar. I reasoned that if she didn't bond with Socks and Boots, she'd still have a snuggle buddy with Kodi. Fig and Kodi are the first polydactyls I've ever had - They're a joy to watch them play with those big feet. The only draw back is how far they can fling cat litter
I've searched the internet for weeks looking for a forum like this - I'm really glad to have found this one!
