unwanted wake up call

My cat wakes me up around the same time every morning and wont let me sleep. He meows and meows and rubs all over me. I try to tell him no and go lay down but he wont listen. Is there tricks to get him to stop besides shuting him out of the room?

good luck with that one... mine does the same thing. She's now finally (after 8 weeks) starting to let me sleep till the alarm goes off... but if she's in the living room and she hears the radio alarm go off she has to sprint into the bedroom to make sure I'm up and see what's going on!

And if she's hungry before it's time to wake up, she hops on the bed, stands on my back, gets herself comfortable and patiently grooms herself, while purring. As if I could sleep with the motor boat going and the rocking motion on my back!

She's so cute though, if I even move at all she's at full attention!
