We found a tick on our cats ear. How long should I wait to put flea medicine on.

Why should you wait?
Many flea treatments are effective for ticks as well, so I don't think you need to wait.

Should I call the vet tomorrow to tell them we found a tick

Of course you can tell the vet about it. Ticks can carry diseases that can debilitate your cat, so your vet might advice you on what to do, but this shouldn't stop you from applying fleas and ticks treatments to your cat.
